• Gen. Yakubu Gowon Says Two Christian Friends in Plateau Betrayed Him in New Memoir

Former Nigerian Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd.), has revealed that two of his Christian friends from Plateau State betrayed him, saying the experience remains one of the painful memories of his life.

Gowon made the revelation in his newly launched memoir, My Life of Duty, unveiled in Abuja during a ceremony attended by prominent national figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, former First Lady Aisha Buhari, former Heads of State, senior military officers, diplomats, and other distinguished guests.

In the book, the former Head of State recalled that two of his Christian friends in Plateau State abandoned and betrayed him, noting that the incident left a lasting emotional impact.

According to Gowon, despite the passage of time, he still feels the pain of what he described as their betrayal.

The elder statesman explained that one of the major reasons for writing My Life of Duty was to correct what he described as longstanding misconceptions and inaccurate interpretations about his life, his leadership, and the policies of his administration.

He said the memoir offers his personal account of key events in Nigeria

  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

It is safe to say that it will be an exciting year indeed.

How To Embrace Fashion Trends @oyin_edogi

Much of fashion is clearly what we see and fashion trends conveys this feeling.

On and off the internet we keep witnessing how high level fashionable ideas are morphed out into daily life, gaining even more popularity which continues to be adopted by many.

There are several refreshing styles and sustainable options out there that you do not have to spend a fortune to be able  purchase luxury items and rock the best fashion trend.

THERE ARE SEVERAL REFRESHING AND SUSTAINABLE OPTIONS OUT THERE, THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PURCAHSE LUXURY ITEMS TO ROCK THE BEST OF FASHION TREND

Undoubtedly, embracing new fashion trends can be dicey, especially if you are used to playing it safe with your style.

However, I have come to settle on the realization that one of the failsafe way to approach fashion is to underscore the positive impact and value it can add into our lives through authenticity, better self-worth, sheer confidence, self-esteem and even emotional well-being.

How To Embrace Fashion Trends @theyusufs

While it is important to understand that fashion trends is ever-evolving, there is need to identify with and adopt some to upgrade your style.

As we charge into another fashion season, let this serve as a reminder for you  to step out of your comfort zone and veer into trends that is different from what you are used to, embrace newness in your thoughts and closets.

Here are six helpful tips to help you embrace fashion trends

Be Inspired: to start with, take a look around and check out people’s style that you admire.

From fashion influencers to celebrities, fashion brands and individuals who clearly just have their thing going.

There are tons of style that can inspire and you can resonate with.

Lean into it to spark interest in you and this can lead you to do better with your personal style.

Be Original: inasmuch as you are inspired by fashion trend, you must ensure that you champion an original form of personal style.

A truly stylish person understands the importance of originality and been authentic with their style.

It is very important to find out what makes you feel your best, you do not have to wear or style it like everyone else.

Pay Attention and be Increasingly aware of those things that makes you feel your best when you wear them.

It is not enough to be inspired but to carry on and carry through with working out your own style that is effortless and original.

Experiment with silhouettes and aesthetics: find your personal style by trying out different silhouettes, cut or pattern.

The essence of embracing new fashion trends is to amplify your personal style and there is no better way to do this other than introducing fresh aesthetics into your style.

Getting really comfortable with new fashion trend takes time and very few times you will look like a joke but, I urge you to have fun while at it.

There are tons of aesthetics and silhouette that will appeal to your fashion sense, embrace them joyfully.

Trust your own fashion instinct: it is never enough to just encourage you to embrace new fashion trends and seek style inspiration, but to encourage you to trust your fashion instinct more and allow for it to guide you.

Do not downplay your fashion instincts as regards adopting new fashion trends, trust it to lead you as you make your decisions.

Do not splurge on trends: this may come off as very controversial but it is not.

The truth is fashion trends is ever-evolving and as such it is not advisable to splurge so much on it.

Take your time to find few fashion trends that resonates with your personal style, settle with it and transform your personal style.

Incorporate your fashion preference:  you may be curious to know what to know what this means, some of us are slow to adopting new fashion trends and this can be filled with uncertainties because we are not quite sure how it will ultimately resonate with our style.

Start by incorporating few of you choices or style preference, alongside the new fashion trend you have adopted.

Say for example, you are a denim girl or you love to throw on  blazer, find style inspirations that syncs with incorporating denim or blazers into new trends and become a pro at it.
