President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on political leaders in Plateau State to embrace inclusive governance by appointing members of the Hausa/Fulani community to key positions in the state government and recognizing them as indigenes of the state.

The President made the remarks during a high-level dialogue meeting with political, traditional, and religious leaders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Addressing participants at the meeting, Tinubu stressed that sustainable peace and development in Plateau State require fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all communities.

  • Goldman Sachs Lowers 2027 Brent Oil Price Forecast Over Supply Growth, Demand Risks

Goldman Sachs has reduced its forecast for Brent crude oil prices in 2027, citing expectations of increased global oil supply and growing concerns over weaker demand.

The investment bank said rising production from major oil-producing countries, coupled with uncertainties surrounding global economic growth, could place downward pressure on oil prices in the coming years.

Analysts noted that slower economic activity in key markets and the increasing adoption of alternative energy sources may affect long-term demand for crude oil.

The revised outlook comes as energy markets continue to monitor geopolitical developments, production policies by major exporters, and changing consumption patterns worldwide.

Harris Calls Trump a ‘fascist’ as she says John Kelly is sending “wake-up call” to Americans

Ahead of the United States of America’s November’s general election, the Democratic nominee and vice president Kamara Harris has described her Republican counterpart Donald Trump as a ‘fascist.’

Yesterday night, Wednesday, reacting to random questions by the electorates at a town hall in Aston, Pennsylvania, she made this remark.

The town hall was overseen and coordinated by CNN, under the stewardship of Anderson Cooper, Kamara seized the medium to respond to questions and clarify issues surrounding commends made by John Kelly, earlier.

In an interview with The New York Time earlier this week, John Kelly, who was chief of staff to Donald Trump, said that his former boss (Donald Trump) is the true meaning of a “fascist.”

Stressing that the former president, during their working together, told him on countless occasions that Adolf Hitler had “done some good things.”

The former Marine general did not rebuff the remark made by Harris, but asked her buoyantly in response, “Do you think Donald Trump is a fascist?”

“Yes, I do. Yes, I do. And I also believe that the people who know him best on this subject should be trusted,” Harris replied, in reference to Kelly’s question.

Harris cited delay in Kelly’s response to her claim, claiming that his response might be too late considering how close the election is.

“Why is he telling the American people now?” Harris questioned rhetorically, before answering: “Frankly, I think of it as… he’s just putting out a 911 call to the American people.”

Harris has always indicated that Trump is a potential threat to American democracy which she always uses as a basis of her argument−spoken in loud speeches−stating that Trump is not qualified to be reelected.

In the first response to Kelly’s comment on Wednesday, she would not let the claim slip in her speeches after she was heard, again, calling Trump “increasingly unhinged and unstable”

“It is deeply troubling and incredibly dangerous that Donald Trump would invoke Adolf Hitler, the man who is responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Americans.

“All of this is further evidence for the American people of who Donald Trump really is,” she added.

The Democratic nominee warned of imminent threat to democracy and autocratic and arbitrary use of power if Trump be given another term in the White House.

“In a second term, people like John Kelly would not be there to be the guardrails against his propensities and his actions.

Harris added: “Those who once tried to stop him from pursuing his worst impulses would no longer be there and no longer be there to rein him in.”

The town hall appearance could see Harris gain more ground by convincing voters who are yet to believe in her ability to run their affairs of the country, and those who remain unconvinced or undecided on their choice of candidate prior to forthcoming election.

Pennsylvania is one of the battleground state which can also determines whom the winner of the election will be.

Reacting to questions and doubts hovering over her ability to steer the country in a progressive direction, and if her administration will not the same as this of the incumbent President Joe Biden, she said, “My administration will not be a continuation of the Biden administration.

I bring to this role my own ideas and my own experience. I represent a new generation of leadership on a number of issues and believe we have to actually take new approaches.”

She reckoned her past achievement from foreclosure issues and her commitments to shield homeowners from “killing” lending.

A few minutes later during the town hall meeting, Harry bitterly called Trump a “fascist” as she answered question fielded on Palestinian civilians killed in Gaza which she described to be “unconscionable.”

“Listen, I am not going to deny the strong feelings that people have,” Harris said.

“I don’t know that anyone who has seen the images who would not have strong feelings about what has happened, much less those who have relatives, who have died and been killed. And I and I know people and I’ve talked with people, so I appreciate that.”

“But I also do know that for many people who care about this issue, they also care about bringing down the price of groceries,” Harris argued.

“They also care about our democracy and not having a president of the United States who admires dictators and is a fascist.

They also care about the fact that we need practical, common-sense solutions from a leader who is willing to work across the aisle on behalf of the American people and not themselves.

“They want a president who cares about a fundamental freedom to make decisions about your own body, understanding that we’re not trying to change anyone’s belief, but let’s not have the government telling women what to do with their body.”

Harris disclosed her commitments to supporting micro-business owners, describing them as the “backbone of the American economy,” and indicated that her administration will reduce tax which will allow small micro-businesses to “invest in themselves, and grow, and in the process invest in communities, invest in neighborhoods, and strengthen our economy overall.”

She vowed to utilise experience garnered from looking after her sick mother and from raising children, “which is why my plan and my approach says, hey, you shouldn’t have to wipe out all your savings to qualify for Medicaid.”

On the other hand, Cooper stressed Harris should base her focus on more specific policies she proposed, including a sacrifice she intends to make to provide $650 million in financing a wall at the southern border.

He asked Harris: “Under Trump, you criticised the border wall more than 50 times. You called it stupid, useless, and a medieval vanity project. Is a border wall stupid?”

She answered: “Well let’s talk about Donald Trump and that border wall.

“Remember he said Mexico would pay for it? Well, they didn’t. How much did he build? I think the last number I saw is about 2%.

“I am going to bring forward that bipartisan bill to further strengthen and secure our borders. Yes, I am. And I am going to work across the aisle to pass a comprehensive bill that deals with a broken immigration system,” she added.

Harris explained, “America has always had migration, but there needs to be a legal process for it. People have to earn it. And that’s the point that I think is the most important point that can be made, which is that we need a president who is grounded in common sense and practical outcomes.”
