  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

  • Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo Alleges Boko Haram Infiltrated Nigerian Military, Links Claim to U.S. Troop Withdrawal

JOS, Nigeria — The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo, has alleged that members of the Boko Haram insurgent group have occupied strategic positions within the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The cleric made the remarks in a video circulated on his social media page, where he discussed the security situation in Nigeria and the recurring violence in parts of the country.

According to Rev. Dachamo, the alleged infiltration of the military was the reason United States military personnel were withdrawn from Nigeria after, he claimed, they received security reports from troops deployed to assess the security situation.

He further alleged that the U.S. personnel had been sent in connection with concerns over what he described as the killing of Christian communities in parts of the country.

Rev. Dachamo did not provide evidence to substantiate his claims during the video.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the United States Government had not publicly confirmed Rev. Dachamo

The resurgence of the inspirationally banging ‘90s fashion trend into our fashion consciousness is becoming more apparent to discerning fashion enthusiasts.

This article panders to your inner curiosity about the fashion trends that reigned in the ‘90s and how they are making their way back into society’s fashion consciousness.

We are excited for the resurgence of the 90’s fashion trend which is bringing back the good old time in a refreshing manner.

We are being served the much-needed fashion nostalgia in 2021, and we are overly excited about this resurgence.

The fashion and style of the ‘90s have always been a point of reference in the history of fashion, and it’s safe to say that it has made its mark.

Fashion trends come and go but the 90’s fashion has proved beyond every reasonable doubt that it’s here to stay, and it’s absolutely worthy of all the hype it is getting.

This is because they keep re-emerging on the fashion scene, inspiring us all in the process. Kirsten Harris succinctly puts it: “Ain’ no trend like the 90’s trend”.

For someone who is obsessed with the 90’s trend, boy!!! I am sold out. From music to fashion and hairstyles, I had some fashion icons from the ‘90s that I wanted to dress up like.

I love listening to songs by TLC,2pac, Spice girls, Brandy, Salt n Pepa, Dru Hill, Usher and could tell you that they were all cool.

I was particularly sold out to TLC from their hit song “No scrub” to “Digging on you”, “Unpretty” amongst other favourite songs.

The 90’s trend obviously inspired a lot of us no doubt, something about the attitude, grit, art, fashion, and good vibes.

I am favourably disposed to the idea that we can approach the 90’s fashion in a much more classy manner.

Music icons like Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Keke Palmer, Tateyena Taylor, among others have been spotted rocking the 90’s fashion trend, from tracksuit to oversize Jersey, crop top, baggy pants, a stack of neck chain/choker, among others.

We are excited to see more on the fashion scene and street style.

Corey Todd Taylor, the American Actor, Songwriter and  Musician asserts that “ I am so glad for the resurgence of the 90’s trend and I’ll like for you to take a cue from the fashion of the ’90s to inject into your style pattern”.

He further said that “the ’90s were a great time to be alive as (sic) there was a sense of optimism that I never felt before that decade, and I haven’t felt since”.

Here are a few of my favourite 90’s fashion trends with tips for styling them effortlessly without having to look overdressed and tacky, as follows:

  1. Slip Dress: The slip dress resurfaced beautifully in 2021 with such vibrant colours and never-ending styling options. Choosing to wear alone or pair with a well-tailored suit blazer for a much more classy look. The options are endless. One thing stands slip dress out and it’s for the fact that it’s perfect for daytime or date night.
  2. Neck Choker: The neck choker and layers of neck chain also made it’s way back as we’ve seen fashion enthusiasts stack up on them beautifully and we are all for it. Less is always more remember.
  3. Miniskirts and Suits: For the 90’s miniskirts and suits, you can strike them out fashionably with a pair of mules, for a chic vibe.
  4. Boots:  I am obsessed with how boots are worn over bikers shorts and pedal pushers. They are paired with a crop top and an oversized shirt. This combination is so retro and it’s a pleasure to see it back in 2021.
  5. Dungarees: Dungarees paired with a crop top, bandana and a pair of sneakers is such a baby girl vibe, and you can opt for a much more effortless and classy outlook to this ensemble. Depending on your preference, you can pair yours with a sleeveless shirt and a pair of mules or sneakers.

  6. Oversize Coloured Shirts: Oversize coloured shirts are back! Colours such as orange, blue, green and purple are in, and we are obsessed. The yummy colours are best paired with mum jeans or straight denim paired with mules.
  7. Crop Top and Palazzo Pants: The combination of crop top and palazzo pants is good to have back this season. We’ve seen it take over street style and it’s such a delight. I am glad for the resurgence of the 90’s fashion trend. Happy times are here again. x
  8. Platforms Shoes: Platforms shoes are back with a twist. These platform shoes are back in sweet colours, and we’ve seen them paired with a graphic tee top and jeans.
  9. Sunglasses: The 90’s inspired sunglasses are so good to have back this season. From the rectangular shapes to the tinted and cateye sunglasses. We have seen fashion enthusiasts spurlged on these timeless and classic 90’s accessories.
  10.  Mesh: Mesh are back and we are excited to have this sexiness back in 2021. There are many more vibrant colours and pattern this season.

Ladies and gentlemen, take a look at these resurging inspirationally banging ‘90s fashion trends. I assure you that the experience is as good as seen. You won’t be disappointed.

Let’s go rock them.
