• Gen. Yakubu Gowon Says Two Christian Friends in Plateau Betrayed Him in New Memoir

Former Nigerian Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd.), has revealed that two of his Christian friends from Plateau State betrayed him, saying the experience remains one of the painful memories of his life.

Gowon made the revelation in his newly launched memoir, My Life of Duty, unveiled in Abuja during a ceremony attended by prominent national figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, former First Lady Aisha Buhari, former Heads of State, senior military officers, diplomats, and other distinguished guests.

In the book, the former Head of State recalled that two of his Christian friends in Plateau State abandoned and betrayed him, noting that the incident left a lasting emotional impact.

According to Gowon, despite the passage of time, he still feels the pain of what he described as their betrayal.

The elder statesman explained that one of the major reasons for writing My Life of Duty was to correct what he described as longstanding misconceptions and inaccurate interpretations about his life, his leadership, and the policies of his administration.

He said the memoir offers his personal account of key events in Nigeria

  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

The need for Nigeria to embrace the artificial intelligence culture cannot be overstated, as it holds the key to unlocking economic growth.

In today’s digital age, technology is constantly evolving and artificial intelligence is at the forefront of this transformation.

For this purpose of this article,  AI which is an acronym of the coinage – Artificial Intelligence may be used interchangeably.

Artificial Intelligence has become a game-changer in various industries, from healthcare and finance to education and transportation.

Yet despite its potential to revolutionize the way we live and work, Nigeria has been slow in embracing AI culture. We cannot afford to be left behind in this technological race.

I strongly believe it is time for our country to embrace the power of AI.

We will be looking at the reasons why Nigeria needs to embrace AI culture and the benefits it can bring to our nation.

First and foremost, it is crucial to understand what artificial intelligence is and why it is gaining such immense popularity.

AI refers to the stimulation of human intelligence processes by machine, enabling them to think and learn like human. It involves the use of algorithms and data to make decisions and predictions.

For a developing country like Nigeria, incorporating AI into our society will lead to increased efficiency and productivity.

With AI routine and manual tasks can be automated, freeing up time for humans to focus on more complex and creative tasks.

This will not only save businesses and organization money, but it will also create more job opportunities. As AI technology advances, it requires skilled individual to develop, maintain, and improve it.

By embracing AI culture, Nigeria can create a new wave of job opportunities and become a leader in the AI field on the continent.

Moreover, AI can significantly improve the quality of healthcare in Nigeria.

With the shortage of healthcare workers and the growing population, AI can assist in diagnosing diseases and predicting health risks. This can save lives and improve the overall well-being of our people.

In addition, AI-powered medical devices can help with remote patient monitoring, reducing the need for frequent hospital visits. This is especially crucial in a country like Nigeria, where access to quality healthcare is limited in rural areas.

Embracing AI culture can bridge this gap and improve the healthcare system in our country.

Moreover, AI can revolutionize the agricultural sector, which accounts for a significant portion of Nigeria’s GDP. By utilizing AI-powered tools, farmers can make decisions regarding crop management, irrigation, and pest control.

This will lead to increase crop yields and better food security. This, in turn, can boost the country’s agriculture industry and reduce its reliance on food import.

Furthermore, AI can also play a vital role in education. With the implementation of AI-powered tools and platforms, we can personalize learning, making it more effective for students.

AI can create a personalized learning path for each student, catering to their individual needs and abilities.

It can also provide real-time feedback, allowing teachers to track student’s progress and intervene when necessary. With the use of AI. Nigeria can improve its education system and provide highly skilled individuals who can contribute to the country’s development.

In the business world, Artificial Intelligence  can greatly benefit Nigeria companies by providing valuable insight and predicting market trends.

This can also help businesses make informed decisions, improve their products and services, and stay competitive in the global market.

Additionally, AI can enhance customer experience through chatbots and virtual assistants, providing 24/7 support to customers. This will not only increase customer satisfaction but also save businesses money in the long run. By embracing AI culture, Nigerian businesses can expand and thrive in the digital age.

Despite the numerous benefits of AI, some may argue that it will lead to job losses and automation of jobs, especially in industries with a high number of low-skilled workers.

However, history has shown that with the advancement of technology, new jobs are created.

The rise of AI will require new set of skills, and Nigeria needs to prepare its workforce for this change. This can be done through investing in AI education and training programs.

By doing so, we can mitigate the impact of AI on jobs loss and create a workforce equipped for the future.

Also, embracing AI culture will put Nigeria on the global map as a country that is forward-thinking and innovative. With the rise of AI in other countries, it is crucial for Nigeria to keep up and be a part of this technological revolution.

This will not only improve our global reputation but also attract foreign investments and partnership. It is time for Nigeria to showcase its potentials and embrace AI culture to secure its place in the global economy.

The adoption of AI can also help Nigeria tackle some of its pressing social issues. For instance, AI can be used to improve security and reduce crime rates. With the help of facial recognition and predictive analytics, law enforcement agencies can more efficiently identity an prevent criminal activities.

This can help improve the safety of citizens and create a more secure environment for businesses to thrive.

The benefits of Artificial Intelligence are undeniable, and Nigeria needs to embrace this culture to drive growth and development in various sectors.

From efficiency and productivity to healthcare and education. AI has the potential to transform our country.

It is time for Nigerian leaders and decision-makers to recognize the need for AI and take action towards incorporating it into our society. Let’s not let fear hold us back from embracing this technological advancement that can take our nation to the next level.

The time for Nigeria to embrace AI culture is now.
