• Gen. Yakubu Gowon Says Two Christian Friends in Plateau Betrayed Him in New Memoir

Former Nigerian Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd.), has revealed that two of his Christian friends from Plateau State betrayed him, saying the experience remains one of the painful memories of his life.

Gowon made the revelation in his newly launched memoir, My Life of Duty, unveiled in Abuja during a ceremony attended by prominent national figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, former First Lady Aisha Buhari, former Heads of State, senior military officers, diplomats, and other distinguished guests.

In the book, the former Head of State recalled that two of his Christian friends in Plateau State abandoned and betrayed him, noting that the incident left a lasting emotional impact.

According to Gowon, despite the passage of time, he still feels the pain of what he described as their betrayal.

The elder statesman explained that one of the major reasons for writing My Life of Duty was to correct what he described as longstanding misconceptions and inaccurate interpretations about his life, his leadership, and the policies of his administration.

He said the memoir offers his personal account of key events in Nigeria

  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

Ghanaian Footballer has been released by his Club for being cursed. It doesn’t get any weirder than that. Sounded very fairytale but a true-life story.

Mohammed Anas has hit out at TS Galaxy following bizarre reports that the club released him after accusing him of having bad luck.

TS Galaxy has released the Ghanaian forward Mohammed Anas following complaints about the ‘bad luck he’s come with to the club.

The 26-year-old Ghanaian was released by The Rockets following reported complaints from members of the first team on the apparent “bad luck” Anas brought to the club.

According to the latest reports, Mohammed Anas,26, will not even be able to make it through the halfway mark of the current DStv Premiership season.

More so,  if the given reasons are anything to go by, they might be some of the most bizarre reasons in football history to date.

According to a source from Morganable News, Anas was not released based purely on footballing reasons by TS Galaxy, but with way more than what would meet the eye.

The source confirmed that sections of the club’s players felt that he was transferring bad luck to TS Galaxy this season.

Mohammed Anas Hope Dashed

This would represent a rather unorthodox way for TS Galaxy to part ways with Anas, who joined the Rockets as the club is affectionately known.

Anas had joined the club with so much optimism, believing that former club assistant coach, Shaun Bartlett was the perfect mentor to help him reach his 15 goal target. Both have now since left the club.

The rationale for the Bizarre Decision

A source said some Galaxy players on the team raised their concern about Anas’s bad luck and transferred it to the whole team.

“Every team he’s played for here (in South Africa) has either dodged relegation by a whisker or got relegated. He was at Maritzburg, and they merely survived relegation that season. He was at Free State Stars when they were relegated, and the same happened at Polokwane City.

“Last season he was with Black Leopards and the same thing happened. The players were worried that they are trying everything but the results are not coming. He was quietly released by the club last week,” said the source.

The Kumasi-born moved to South Africa in 2016 from Eswatini and has represented five clubs, including Maritzburg United and Black Leopards.

Anas joined Galaxy from relegated Black Leopards on an initial two-year deal, but it has been cut short if reports are to be believed.

His Many Sins

In 2017, a post-match interview by Anas went viral after he thanked his wife and girlfriend.

He, however, denied being unfaithful, saying, “My family knows that I call my daughter my girlfriend.

That’s what I was talking about. I don’t have a girlfriend.”

Mohammed Anas’ Shocking Response

“Yesterday, a friend from Ghana called me and asked me about being cursed,” Anas asserts.

“Because I’m not on social media, I phoned my wife to check for me.

“I then said to myself, if TS Galaxy is telling me I’m cursed, was I the only player playing for a relegated team? No. Is it because I’m a foreigner?

“If I’m cursed as a brother, you must help me. I have no one here, I only have my wife and my kids. I don’t know why people are saying such things about me.

“Now I’m losing my job because of this, I’m scared. How are teams going to sign me? I don’t know if I should stop playing football. What other job do I know? Football is what God gave me.

“After hearing I would be released, I confronted the new coach. Even he couldn’t tell me why I was leaving.

“When this coach came, they put me as a winger. I was desperate and even before the Maritzburg United match, I was still working hard. I trained hard that week. But then they told me we don’t want you anymore.

“We will call your agent. I’m not a person who goes to coaches and asks them why I am not playing.”

Anas revealed the details of conversations he had with club owner Tim Sukazi.

“Mr Sukazi said, ‘No, Anas. You know when one door closes, another one opens. You will always be part of the family.’ He gave me fatherly advice.

TS Galaxy FC’s Denial

When reached for comment the club denied any off-field reasons for Anas’ departure.

“There was nothing more to it really,” the club said.

“After being assessed by the technical team, they felt the services of Mohammed Anas will not be needed going forward.

“A mutual agreement was reached between the two parties, and they parted ways.”

Who is Mohammed Anas?

The Kumasi-born moved to South Africa in 2016 from Eswatini and has represented five clubs, including Maritzburg United and Black Leopards.

Anas joined Galaxy from relegated Black Leopards on an initial two-year deal, but it has been cut short if reports are to be believed.

TS Galaxy remains rooted at the bottom of the DStv premiership league after registering just one win so far this season.

It remains to be seen whether such a decision by the Club is objective enough to exonerate the Club from impending legal challenges, if any.
