The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in the sum of N100 million with one surety in like sum.

US Based Ghanaian Pastor Sylvester Ofori Shot Wife Barbara Tommey Dead in Florida

Sylvester Ofori, 35, the founding Pastor and Prophet of the Floodgates of Heaven International Ministries was arrested today for the murder of his wife, Barbara Tommy, 27.

According to the Orlando Police Department, the Unfortunate incidence took place outside of her workplace, the Navy Federal Credit Union by the Mall at the Millennia, Orlando, Central Florida.

In a brief statement released by the Orlando Police Department, “Barbara Tommey, 27, was shot near the front door of the business by her husband, Sylvester Ofori just before 9 a.m. on Tuesday.”

“She was rushed to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she died shortly afterwards.” Orlando Police said.

“Detectives are working tirelessly throughout the day in order to achieve the following outcome in this case.” said the Orlando Police Department.

Investigators said the shooting was captured on surveillance video.

Orlando Police Chief, Rolon said that “You can tell that she’s trying to get inside (the credit union). Unfortunately, he shoots her. You can tell she was surprised by what was happening.”

A witness by the name Lisa told News 6 that she saw the whole thing unravelled, as she was waiting outside before the bank opened. “I’m shaken up right now, I’m still shaken up,” she said.

The self-proclaimed Prophet, Sylvester Ofori, 35 have since been arrested and held at the Orange County Prison without the option of a bond pending charges of first-degree murder of his wife.

He was checked into the facility at about 9.39 pm. His arrest was deemed uneventful as he did not resist arrest.

The Orlando Police Department obtained a search warrant to search the couple’s apartment but no further detail has been released.

Barbara Tommey in Brief

Barbara Tommey, 27, as at the time of her death was an Assistant Manager at the Navy Federal Credit Union by the Mall at the Millennia, Orlando, Central Florida.

She has worked at the Credit Union for 5 years following her graduation from the University of Central Florida in 2015 where she studied for a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.

Her LinkedIn Profile also attested that she is working on a Master’s Degree Program in Strategic Communication and Leadership at the Maryville University of Saint Louis in the state of Missouri.

Prophet Sylvester Ofori

Sylvester Ofori, 35, is the founding Pastor and Prophet of the Floodgates of Heaven International Ministries. He refers to himself as “a prophet and motivational speaker”.

Sylvester Ofori has an extensive social media presence with 59,524 Facebook Page Likes and 62,636 Facebook Page Followership.

The Floodgates of Heaven International Ministries is geographically located at 44 Coburn Ave, Orlando, FL 32805, United States.

According to the Facebook page, the Ministry is described as “dedicated to helping those who need to increase their “prayer life.”

The Social media Page asserts among others that “We believe that prayer changes things and the bible says that the prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

His Facebook posts in the week leading to the murder provided an inkling into his mindset. Below are some of his Facebook post extracts:
