Snoop Dogg invests in football as the legendary rapper co-owns club

In recent weeks, Swansea City have experienced massive investments turning-in, as Luka Modric and Snoop Dogg have become latest investors in the Championship Club.

In a shock development, yesterday, Snoop Dogg was reported to have invested in the growing Championship Club as a co-owner.

The renowned rapper said he was attracted by the ‘underdog’ story of the South Wales outfit. This latest investment came after Real Madrid legend and one-time Ballon d’Or winner< Luka Modric, bought a stake in the club in April.

These latest investments by Modric and Snoop followed a takeover championed by American businessmen Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen in November, 2024.

Snoop Dogg Invests In Football

Snoop Dogg, who initially expressed interests in investing in Celtic, now shifts his focus on helping Swansea regaining a Premier berth.

‘My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City,’ he said.

Snoop Dogg has been declared to be a shock investor and a co-owner in Swansea City, just a few days after modelling their kit.

He world-famous rapper vowed to do everything within his capability to help the club and drawn–n by their roots after becoming latest icon to join the club’s board after Luka Modric in April.

“’The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me.

‘’I’m proud to be part of Swansea City. I am going to do all I can to help the club, and I look forward to getting to know all my YJBS.’

Snoop investing in the club catalyses another flourish in this exciting new chapter for Swansea, who has been dangling at the mid-table in the Championship for the past three years.

Snoop was a shocking kid model as Swansea disclosed their home kit for 2025/26 season recently, and now it looks like he will be part of the ownership syndicate.

Snoop Dogg, who has over 35 million albums sold across the world, and a social media following over 1oo million users, his presence, at the club, will attract lots of potential for them to boost their audience.

As reported by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) earlier, Snoop’s involvement with the club came to be through a ‘mutual connection’ with Cravatt and Cohen.

Swansea City chief executive Tom Gorringe said: ‘It is very exciting for us as a football club to formally welcome Snoop Dogg as a co-owner and investor into Swansea City.

The legendary rapper will have his mural erected on the west stand of the stadium, while his fellow investor Modric continues his football career at A Milan after his contract with Real Madrid expired in the summer.

“His enjoyment and love of football is well documented, and he has often spoken of a desire to get more involved in the sport.

“We are delighted he believes that being part of Swansea City is the right way to realise that ambition.

“Dogg is passionate about this project and helping us continue to raise the profile of the club to as wide an audience as possible.”

“To borrow a phrase from Snoop’s back catalogue, this announcement is the next episode for Swansea City as we seek to create new opportunities to boost the club’s reach and profile, Swansea City’s ownership group, added.

‘Snoop’s colossal global fanbase and audience will certainly help us do that, and he has made clear to us throughout this process just how excited he is at the prospect of joining the club.

“Snoop has openly shared his love of football and his desire to be involved in the game, and we expect his involvement to support us putting as competitive a team as possible out on the field.

“During our conversations Snoop spoke about having worn many football shirts without ever having felt a club to be the right fit for him.

“We are delighted that putting on a Swansea shirt has proven to be that right fit.”

As it is, it looks like Snoop Dogg’s love for football is real. He surely has a history with sport as he featured in NBC’s special correspondent for Olympics last year.

Once upon a time, he had an interest in investing in Celtic. In an interview with Daily Record last year, he said: “I love what Ryan (Reynolds) has done with Wrexham. It’s just a great story.”

Swansea needed a shot in the arm after a difficult season that saw boss Luke Williams sacked

“Investing in a sports team has been something I have been looking at for a long time. If the chance came to invest in Celtic, I would be crazy not to take a look at it.

“I have watched so much soccer in Europe but I have never seen fans like the Celtic fans. There is something so special about them.

“There is a reason why their fans are talked about across Europe. The best players and coaches in the world tell you there is nowhere like Celtic Park and I want to be a part of that.

“Their mascot is a hound. You couldn’t make that up. Snoop Dogg becomes Hoopy the Hound–that’s gotta be a match made in heaven. The headlines write themselves.”

Snoop Dogg was photographed in Celtic jersey in the past, also describing the club as ‘his boys’ in a recent interview.

But from this moment on, He will definitely be all in on Swansea.
