• 🇺🇸🇳🇬 US TO WITHDRAW ABOUT 200 TROOPS FROM NIGERIA BY SEPTEMBER The United States is preparing to withdraw about 200 military personnel from Nigeria by late September, according to reports citing US military officials. Smaller teams of American trainers and intelligence personnel are expected to remain in Nigeria as Washington continues its security partnership with the country. The US deployment, which began earlier this year, focused on intelligence, surveillance, training and counterterrorism support. US Africa Command Commander, Gen. Dagvin Anderson, said many American troops had already been withdrawn following a May operation in the Lake Chad Basin that killed Abu Bilal al-Minuki, described by US officials as a senior Islamic State leader. Anderson said the operation significantly weakened ISIS leadership and stressed that intelligence cooperation with Nigeria would continue. The Pentagon has described the deployment as a model for supporting African partners through a limited military footprint rather than a large permanent presence. The planned withdrawal therefore does not mean an end to US-Nigeria security cooperation, as Washington is expected to maintain intelligence and training support. #USNigeria #Nigeria #USMilitary #Security #CounterTerrorism #LakeChad #AFRICOM #Terrorism #NigeriaNews #BreakingNews #Morganable
  • Bangladesh is considering joining the Mecca Pact, a defence agreement involving Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan. The move could reshape Dhaka’s foreign relations, particularly with neighbouring India, as Bangladesh seeks to strengthen its security ties with key Muslim-majority countries. However, Bangladesh has not made a final decision on joining the pact.
  • Catastrophic flash flood has swept through communities along the Nepal-Tibet border, killing dozens of people and leaving hundreds missing. The disaster struck after a massive ice-and-rock avalanche from a glacier collapsed into the Lhende River in Nepal’s Rasuwa district, triggering a powerful surge of water and debris downstream. A magnitude 4.4 earthquake was recorded in the region shortly before the flood, raising questions over whether the tremor contributed to the glacier collapse. However, authorities say investigations are still ongoing and the exact trigger has not been conclusively established. The flood destroyed homes, roads, bridges and other infrastructure, while several hydropower projects were also affected. Rescue operations are underway in both Nepal and Tibet, but damaged roads and difficult mountainous terrain are hampering efforts to reach affected communities. Authorities are continuing to search for missing people and assess the scale of the destruction.

  • Naja’atu Muhammad Denies Sending Delegation to Apologise to Pantami
Hajiya Naja’atu Muhammad has denied reports that she sent a delegation to Gombe State to apologize to former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, over remarks she previously made about him. The reports had suggested that Naja’atu Muhammad had taken steps to reconcile with the former minister by sending representatives to Gombe to convey an apology over comments she had earlier made concerning Pantami. However, she has rejected the claim, describing the report as inaccurate and stressing that she did not authorized any delegation to visit Professor Pantami for such a purpose. The development comes amid continued public interest in the previous remarks attributed to Naja’atu Muhammad and their implications, particularly given Professor Pantami’s prominent position in Nigeria’s political and public affairs. Naja’atu’s denial therefore seeks to clarify the circumstances surrounding the alleged meeting and to distance herself from reports suggesting that she had initiated an apology through intermediaries. She maintained that members of the public should not rely on unverified reports concerning the matter, urging them to distinguish between confirmed information and claims circulating through informal channels. Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, a former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, remains a prominent figure in Nigeria’s public discourse, particularly on issues relating to technology, digital transformation, governance and national development.
The alleged delegation to Gombe had generated attention because of the personalities involved and the suggestion that it represented an attempt to resolve differences arising from Naja’atu Muhammad’s earlier comments. With her latest clarification, however, Naja’atu has disputed the account that she sought to apologize to the former minister through representatives. The controversy underscores the importance of verifying reports involving prominent public figures before they are circulated, particularly where claims of apologies, reconciliations or political engagements are concerned.

The presentation formed part of the activities surrounding the national meeting, which brought together JIBWIS leadership, scholars, political figures and other stakeholders. The donation also highlights the growing engagement between political actors and religious organisations in supporting educational and community-development initiatives. Fortune University, being developed under the auspices of JIBWIS, is expected to become an important educational institution in Jos upon completion. #Jibwis #Sheikhjingir #Izala #Jibwisnationalheadquarters

Outrage as Trump escaped an assassination attempt. The former President of the United States and current Presidential Candidate for the National Republican Party,  Donald John Trump, was shot at during a 2024 Presidential Campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, the 13th of July, 2024.

The U. S. Former President and current Presidential Candidate of the National Republican Party escaped an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, the 13th of July, 2024, by Thomas Mathew Crooks, a disgruntled and lost political animal.

The Secret Services details immediately hurried Donald Trump off the stage when it appeared that the right side of his head was stained with the blood sustained from the Gunshot wound.

According to reports from various sources, the former President is safe, hale, and hearty and could return to the scene and make appearances at Campaign rallies in a few days.

Although Donald Trump was fortunate to have escaped the dreaded incident with a twitched contact with a gun bullet to his left ear, three other people were not that fortunate as they became the fatal victims of the shootings.

Corey Comperatore, a 50 years old Fire Fighter Chief, tragically lost his life while shielding his family when the gunshots rang out.

David Dutch, a 57-year-old lifelong trump supporter, suffered significant damage to his liver while suffering from broken ribs.

Jennifer Veri-Grazier confirmed that Mr Dutch has had to endure more than one major operation to rescue him. He is still in critical condition, she confirmed.

The third victim was James Copenhaver. The irony is that the 74-year-old Retiree is a registered Democrat.

These individuals have inalienable rights to attend legal political rallies, and violence has no place in the experience of Democracy.

This is a shameful stain on the American Democratic experience.

It was about six minutes after addressing his supporters that Trump reached for the side of his face and discovered the gunshot wound as the shooting kept on ringing at the rally grounds.

He then stooped as Secret Service Agents rushed up to the stage to shield him from further injuries and gunshots. The agents surrounding him aided him into the vehicle and drove off.

As a resilient and enthusiastic candidate, he jeered the crowd by pumping his fist while guarded off the stage, and the supporters reciprocated.

Nobody ever thought of it being gunshots at first until the State Security Service agents rushed onto the stage to guard Trump.

It should be noted that many people got injured during the rally, and reports were gathered from onlookers and spectators that so many of Trump’s supporters still stayed back after he was taken away to ascertain the outcome of the shooting and stampeding.

The security operatives got to work immediately, and after being told that “It was only an active crime scene,” the spectators were hurriedly guarded out of the campaign grounds.

The Security officials on duty at the rally assured the people that the situation was under control and contained and also stressed that they were examining the situation to see if two others allegedly shot in the incident were indeed shot at the rally.

“The President is safe,” assures Secret Service spokesperson on X.

“This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when it is available,” Agency spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi posted.

According to Steven Cheung, Trump’s Spokesperson, “Thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act.”

“He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility,” Cheung said.

Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.”

Although we don’t know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt. We should use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. Michelle and I wish him a quick recovery.”

Former Speaker of the US House of Representatives – Nancy Pelosi

The former US House of Representatives Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, also expressed concerns about the unfortunate occurrence.

She said:  “As one whose family has been the victim of political violence, I know first-hand that political violence of any kind has no place in our society. I thank God that former President Trump is safe.

As we learn more details about this horrifying incident, let us pray that all those in attendance at the former President’s rally today are unharmed.”
