• Gen. Yakubu Gowon Says Two Christian Friends in Plateau Betrayed Him in New Memoir

Former Nigerian Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd.), has revealed that two of his Christian friends from Plateau State betrayed him, saying the experience remains one of the painful memories of his life.

Gowon made the revelation in his newly launched memoir, My Life of Duty, unveiled in Abuja during a ceremony attended by prominent national figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, former First Lady Aisha Buhari, former Heads of State, senior military officers, diplomats, and other distinguished guests.

In the book, the former Head of State recalled that two of his Christian friends in Plateau State abandoned and betrayed him, noting that the incident left a lasting emotional impact.

According to Gowon, despite the passage of time, he still feels the pain of what he described as their betrayal.

The elder statesman explained that one of the major reasons for writing My Life of Duty was to correct what he described as longstanding misconceptions and inaccurate interpretations about his life, his leadership, and the policies of his administration.

He said the memoir offers his personal account of key events in Nigeria

  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

It Is A Surprise That I Am Here, Trump Says. The Former President of the United States of America and the current National Republican Party’s Presidential Candidate, Donald John Trump, has spoken about the failed assassination attempt that nearly took his life abruptly.

The Presidential Candidate has spoken for the first time since the failed assassination attempt on Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Be reminded that this is the third consecutive time Donald Trump will be contesting against the Democrats: The first time was his electoral victory over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Presidential election as they duelled to replace the popular Barack Obama.

The second time was in 2020 against Joe Robinette Biden whom he lost to, and the third time is now when he’s shaping up to take on the incumbent President, Joe Biden.

Donald Trump’s Immediate Reaction

According to Trump, “I am not supposed to be here; I’m supposed to be dead. The doctor at the hospital said he had never seen anything like this, and he called it a miracle.”

Donald Trump told a team of reporters while en route for his Party’s convention, when asked if it was by luck or by GOD that he dodged the bullet, he said, “So many people are saying it’s by GOD that I am still here.”

Eyewitness account asserted that the assassin’s gun rang out  just a few seconds before Donald Trump was to address an issue on illegal immigration.

The bullet could only pierce the top of his right ear. What a miracle!

The National Republican Candidate, Donald Trump commended the Secret Service Agents on being proactive, safeguarding him, and ensuring that he was safely guarded off the stage and properly shielded from further injuries.

He described them as “line-backers” and also claimed that the shooter could only be extinguished with one shot in between the eyes.

Trump said, “They did a fantastic job,” he told the Post. “It’s surreal for all of us.

A question came about his fallen shoes when the Secret Service agents were rushing him out off the stage because many heard him requesting the shoes’ whereabouts.

He said, “The agents struck me that my shoes fell off, and my boots are tight.

Responding to viral images of him, pumping his fist and being guarded by the Secret Service agents after the shooting to jeer the crowd of supporters, Trump said, “A lot of people say it’s the most iconic photo they’ve ever seen.

Trump further said, “They’re right, and I didn’t die. Usually, you have to die to have an iconic picture.” Republican Strongman added. “I just wanted to keep speaking, but I just got shot.”

Trump’s First Outing After The Shooting Incident

Trump thanks his well-wishers and appreciates those who called and texted him after the shooting incident. He also pays homage to the United States President for his call, which he described as “very nice.”

He assures the public that the Presidential election between him and the President will be more civil henceforth and further assures the general public that there will not be any room for Political violence.

He appreciated his supporters for coming out en masse and their love and support. He noted that most commonly, when hearing a shot, people run but not with his supporters, they stayed with him even after hearing several shots.

Trump said, “A lot of places … you hear a single shot, everybody runs. Here, there were many shots, and they stayed, “I love them. They are such great people.”

On the other hand, Elon Musk Seeks US Secret Service Director’s Resignation Amidst Trump’s Failed Assassination Attempt.

Elon Musk At Press Briefing

Elon Musk, A Billionaire Businessman and Owner of X (formerly known as Twitter) has called for the resignation of the US Secret Service Director over the assassination attempt on Trump.

He said via his verified social media account that it was either a deliberate attempt or an act of incompetence that the Secret Service agents could not detect the shooter before he made an attempt.

In the post, Musk said, “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery.”

He then continued in another post after being questioned if the shooting was deliberate or accident.

He said, “Extreme incompetence or it was deliberate. Either way, the SS (Secret Service) leadership must resign.”

Not only has Elon Musk backed the former President by fully endorsing him and wishing him a “rapid recovery,” but it is also reported that Billionaire Elon Musk has pledged $45m to aid Trump’s election bid.

A game of Politics is a symbiotic game.

Apart from Elon Musk , a plethora of high-end businessmen and celebrities have voiced their prayers for Donald Trump’s recovery. While some have insinuated a staged occurrence though doubtful, others are pandering to the conspiracy theory of wanting to rid America of Donald Trump , and possibly could have been the handiwork of the state machinery.

It is important to state that these are insinuations that are clearly unfounded and has no shred of circumstantial evidences to substantial them.

We hope that the National Republican Party’s candidate recovers well and be back on the campaign trail in no time.

May the United States of America not experience the assassination of its high-profile Politician again.

Long live the United States of America.
