Still Shocked At Lionel Messi’s Transfer To Inter Miami, Says Beckham

Football Legend and Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham unequivocally expressed his shock at the acquisition of Lionel Messi. Stating that he still struggles to understand the rationale behind Messi’s move to the United States.

The forty-nine year old stated that he is still to grasp the motive behind the move but quipped that the Argentine legend’s reason could only mean that he had wanted his family to have a desired life in the United States.

This week, while making a speech at Stella Artois’ “Let’s Do Dinner” event, the former England national said: “All he (Argentinian star) was interested in is a place where his family could come enjoy and have a great life. That was really important for Leo (Lionel Messi).

“I mean, from day one, from the moment he put his foot down in Miami, it’s been a dream, honestly.”

In addition, he stated that despite acquiring the Football greatest player and eight-time Ballon d”Or award winner, he still finds it difficult to believe Messi plays on his team.

“To be able to say that we’ve signed the world’s greatest ever player to ever play the game. Everybody’s got their opinion on who they think is the best player of all time – whether it be Diego Maradona, Pele, all of these great players,” Beckham said.

“But to say that we have in the MLS, in Miami, the greatest player to play the game, it’s just like a dream, you know? It’s a dream every time that I’m there,” he continued.

“If I go for the whole of the summer, which I went for four weeks this summer, I go into training every single day because, personally, I can’t believe we’ve got Leo.

“Secondly, I just want to watch what he does. And that’s a special thing for us,” Beckham concluded in anticipation of Messi’s return.

Beckham will be in attendance of the Saturday’s match as Messi’s Inter Miami will play against New York City FC at Yankee Stadium. A game that will record his third appearance following his return from a right ankle injury which ruled him out for weeks.
