• Tinubu Urges Plateau State Governor to Include Hausa/Fulani in his Cabinet, and also Recognize Them as Indigenes

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on political leaders in Plateau State to embrace inclusive governance by appointing members of the Hausa/Fulani community to key positions in the state government and recognizing them as indigenes of the state.

The President made the remarks during a high-level dialogue meeting with political, traditional, and religious leaders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Addressing participants at the meeting, Tinubu stressed that sustainable peace and development in Plateau State require fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all communities.

  • Goldman Sachs Lowers 2027 Brent Oil Price Forecast Over Supply Growth, Demand Risks

Goldman Sachs has reduced its forecast for Brent crude oil prices in 2027, citing expectations of increased global oil supply and growing concerns over weaker demand.

The investment bank said rising production from major oil-producing countries, coupled with uncertainties surrounding global economic growth, could place downward pressure on oil prices in the coming years.

Analysts noted that slower economic activity in key markets and the increasing adoption of alternative energy sources may affect long-term demand for crude oil.

The revised outlook comes as energy markets continue to monitor geopolitical developments, production policies by major exporters, and changing consumption patterns worldwide.

Graduate with a vision, not just CV. These are not just words of motivation, but a truth that Nigerian youths must begin to embrace wholeheartedly.

In a society where millions graduate every year and only a fraction find jobs, the need for a mindset shift is urgent.

The story of Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma, the founder of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company, stands as a powerful reminder that success is not reserved for the privileged.

Graduate With A Vision, Not Just CV

It is achievable for those who dare to dream, plan, and work towards a purpose that transcends a job search.

The Humble Beginnings of a Visionary

Innocent Chukwuma was born on October 1, 1961, in Umudim, Nnewi, Anambra State.

Coming from a modest background, he was the youngest of six children. His father was a low-income civil servant and a part-time trader.

Growing up, Innocent quickly learned the value of discipline, perseverance, and hard work.

These values would later become the foundation upon which he built his legacy.

After secondary school, financial limitations forced him to abandon the dream of attending a university.

While many would consider this a setback, Innocent saw it as a redirection. Rather than sitting idle or lamenting his situation, he ventured into business.

Graduate With A Vision, Not Just CV

He began an apprenticeship under his elder brother who was involved in the motorcycle spare parts business in Nnewi.

There, he discovered not just a trade but a calling.

From Selling Parts to Building Vehicles

Through diligence and observation, Innocent mastered the trade. Eventually, he started his own company, Innoson Nigeria Limited.

At the time, the Nigerian market was flooded with imported motorcycles that were expensive and not suited to local roads.

Innocent identified this gap and introduced affordable alternatives, assembling motorcycles from imported parts while employing local labor.

His products gained popularity across the country, especially among low-income earners and commercial motorcycle operators.

Not one to be content with success in a single sector, Innocent envisioned something greater.

In 2007, he took a bold and historic step by launching Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company.

Situated in Umu, Nnewi, IVM became Nigeria’s first indigenous automobile manufacturing company.

The plant produces a wide range of vehicles, including buses, pickup trucks, SUVs, and commercial trucks.

It was no longer about assembling imported parts. He was now producing made-in-Nigeria vehicles designed for the African terrain.

Why Nigerian Youths Must Pay Attention

Innocent Chukwuma’s journey offers a blueprint for young Nigerians. His story is not one of overnight success or inherited wealth.

Graduate With A Vision, Not Just CV

It is a testament to the power of vision, discipline, and belief in self. Many graduates today emerge from universities and polytechnics with only one goal — to find a job.

While seeking employment is not wrong, limiting oneself to that single path is.

The truth is that the Nigerian economy needs more creators than consumers.

It needs youths who can think beyond their degrees and see opportunities where others see obstacles.

Innocent could have allowed his financial struggles to define his future. Instead, he chose to define his future through action and innovation.

He did not just build a company. He built a movement that champions local content, job creation, and national pride.

Challenges Along the Way

The road to success was not without obstacles.

Innoson faced numerous challenges, including skepticism from Nigerians who believed locally manufactured vehicles were inferior.

There were infrastructural challenges, such as unreliable power supply, policy inconsistencies from the government, and limited financial support.

Despite these, Innocent remained focused. He continued to improve his products, expanded his workforce, and gained the trust of both the private and public sectors.

Today, Innoson vehicles are used by state governments, universities, security agencies, and private companies.

More importantly, the company has provided direct and indirect employment to thousands of Nigerians.

Graduate With A Vision, Not Just CV

From engineers to factory workers, marketers to drivers, Innoson has created a value chain that supports livelihoods across the country.

Lessons for Every Graduate

There are several key takeaways from Innocent Chukwuma’s life that every graduate should consider.

First, education is important, but it is not the only key to success.

Practical knowledge, skills, and the ability to think critically are equally vital.

Second, it is not always about how much capital you have, but how well you can identify and solve problems.

Innocent started small, but he started with a purpose.

Third, setbacks should never be seen as the end of the road. Many graduates get discouraged when they cannot find jobs immediately after school.

But that is the perfect time to build something meaningful. Whether it is a small business, a creative venture, or a social enterprise, what matters is that you begin.

Lastly, integrity, patience, and hard work remain timeless values. Innocent built his empire gradually. He faced resistance, yet he persisted.

That same spirit is what Nigerian youths need today. The country is full of opportunities disguised as challenges.

Those who are willing to think differently and act boldly will always find a way to thrive.

Building the Nigeria of Our Dreams

Nigeria cannot grow through government efforts alone.

The private sector, led by visionaries like Innocent Chukwuma, plays a crucial role in economic development.

Graduate With A Vision, Not Just CV

By investing in local production, creating jobs, and reducing import dependency, entrepreneurs contribute immensely to national progress.

Imagine if more young people decided to create rather than wait.

Imagine a country where every graduate leaves school with not just a CV but a clear vision of the value they want to offer society.

This is the mindset that will take Nigeria forward.

It is the mindset that built IVM and that will build many more indigenous companies if we follow the example of Innoson.

It is time for Nigerian youths to stop seeing themselves as victims of the system and start becoming architects of a better future.

Conclusion

Graduate with a vision, not just CV. These words must become the anthem of every Nigerian youth.

The world is changing rapidly. The most celebrated people today are not necessarily those with the most qualifications, but those with the most impact.

Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma has shown that impact begins with a dream and a plan.

He showed that entrepreneurship is not a plan B — it is a powerful path A.

So, as you step into the next phase of life after graduation, ask yourself: What problem can I solve? What value can I add? What future can I build?

Do not just look for where to work. Look for what to create. Your success may not lie in your CV, but in your vision.

Just like Innoson, you can build something Nigeria and the world will never forget.
