  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

  • Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo Alleges Boko Haram Infiltrated Nigerian Military, Links Claim to U.S. Troop Withdrawal

JOS, Nigeria — The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo, has alleged that members of the Boko Haram insurgent group have occupied strategic positions within the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The cleric made the remarks in a video circulated on his social media page, where he discussed the security situation in Nigeria and the recurring violence in parts of the country.

According to Rev. Dachamo, the alleged infiltration of the military was the reason United States military personnel were withdrawn from Nigeria after, he claimed, they received security reports from troops deployed to assess the security situation.

He further alleged that the U.S. personnel had been sent in connection with concerns over what he described as the killing of Christian communities in parts of the country.

Rev. Dachamo did not provide evidence to substantiate his claims during the video.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the United States Government had not publicly confirmed Rev. Dachamo

2026 Winter Fashion Trends for Men: Embrace the Chill with Style is a must-read for you as a male fashionista, as you embrace the cold winter of 2026.

As the temperature drops and the days grow shorter, winter fashion for men in 2026 is all about striking the perfect balance between functionality and flair.

This year, designers are breaking boundaries, merging comfort with sophistication, and introducing innovative materials that redefine cold-weather attire.

Let’s dive into the standout trends that will keep you warm while ensuring you look effortlessly stylish.

1. Layering Like a Pro

Layering remains an essential skill in winter fashion, and in 2026, it’s all about mastering the art of combining textures and lengths.

  • Oversized Outerwear: Think long, oversized coats that can be worn over tailored pieces or chunky knitwear. Popular materials include wool blends and technical fabrics that provide warmth without bulk.  Long, oversized outerwear is a staple this season. Look for wool blends that offer warmth without compromising on style.
  • Turtlenecks and Mock Necks: These have made a significant comeback, acting as versatile underlayers that can be paired with blazers or worn alone for a sleek look. Classic turtlenecks are making a comeback, serving as a versatile base layer that pairs well with blazers or can stand alone for a sleek look.

  • Mixing Patterns and Textures: This winter, feel free to experiment with plaids, stripes, and checks. Pairing a patterned shirt with a contrasting knit can add depth to your outfit. Don’t shy away from combining different patterns. Pairing a plaid shirt with a striped sweater can create a visually striking ensemble.

2. Sustainable Fabrics

Sustainability continues to play a pivotal role in fashion, and 2026 is no exception. Sustainable fashion is taking centre stage.

  • Recycled Materials: Many brands are utilising recycled polyester and organic cotton to create stylish yet eco-conscious garments. Look for labels that prioritise ethical production methods.
  • Innovative Insulation: New technologies are emerging that use natural materials for insulation, such as down alternatives made from recycled plastic bottles, ensuring warmth without harming the environment.

3. Bold and Vibrant Colour Palettes

This winter, men are encouraged to step away from the traditional dark hues and embrace vibrant colours. They should wear these colours with confidence.

  • Rich Jewel Tones: Deep greens, royal blues, and burgundy are making a splash this season, offering a refreshing break from the monotonous winter palette.
  • Pastels and Neons: Surprisingly, soft pastels and even neon accents are being incorporated into winter wardrobes, adding a playful touch to your ensemble. Soft pastels are also making waves, with shades like lavender and mint adding a fresh touch to winter wardrobes.

4. Statement Accessories

Accessories can make or break an outfit, and this winter, they’re taking centre stage. Please understand that accessories are key to enhancing your winter look.

  • Chunky Knit Scarves: Oversized, knitted scarves not only keep you warm but also serve as a style statement. Opt for bold patterns or textures to enhance your look.
  • Stylish Beanies and Caps: Beanies with unique patterns or textures are trendy, and tailored caps are quickly becoming a favourite for those looking to elevate their winter style. Beanies are more than just practical; they’re a fashionable accessory. Look for ones with interesting textures or patterns.
  • Tech-Friendly Stylish Gloves: Leather gloves with tech-friendly fingertips are both fashionable and functional, allowing you to stay connected while keeping warm.

5. Footwear Evolution – Footwear that Combines Function and Style

Footwear in winter 2026 is all about merging style with practicality.

  • Combat Boots: These rugged yet stylish boots are perfect for winter, offering durability and traction. Look for variations in colour and material to stand out.
  • High-Top Sneakers: Combining comfort with a sporty edge, high-top sneakers in insulated materials are a great choice for casual outings.

  • Chic Chelsea Boots: Sleek and sophisticated, Chelsea boots remain a staple, especially in suede or leather finishes that can elevate any outfit.

6. Tech-Infused Fashion

As technology continues to evolve, so does its integration into fashion. The integration of technology into fashion is on the rise.

  • Smart Fabrics: Coats and jackets with built-in heating elements are becoming increasingly popular, providing customizable warmth at the touch of a button.
  • Wearable Tech: Expect to see more accessories that incorporate technology—think smartwatches that not only track fitness but also offer style. Accessories featuring smart technology are becoming more common, blending style with function.

7. Tailored Yet Relaxed Silhouettes

The trend towards relaxed, comfortable fits is here to stay, but with a tailored twist.

  • Relaxed Trousers: Looser trousers in heavier fabrics are trending, offering both comfort and style. Pair them with structured blazers for a balanced look.
  • Cropped Jackets: Cropped outerwear can add an edge to your outfit while allowing for layering underneath.
