President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on political leaders in Plateau State to embrace inclusive governance by appointing members of the Hausa/Fulani community to key positions in the state government and recognizing them as indigenes of the state.

The President made the remarks during a high-level dialogue meeting with political, traditional, and religious leaders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

  • Goldman Sachs Lowers 2027 Brent Oil Price Forecast Over Supply Growth, Demand Risks

Goldman Sachs has reduced its forecast for Brent crude oil prices in 2027, citing expectations of increased global oil supply and growing concerns over weaker demand.

The investment bank said rising production from major oil-producing countries, coupled with uncertainties surrounding global economic growth, could place downward pressure on oil prices in the coming years.

Analysts noted that slower economic activity in key markets and the increasing adoption of alternative energy sources may affect long-term demand for crude oil.

The revised outlook comes as energy markets continue to monitor geopolitical developments, production policies by major exporters, and changing consumption patterns worldwide.

As He Makes Historical Return To The White House

U.S. Election: Trump wins as he makes historical return to The White House

Former United States President and Republican Party nominee Donald Trump has won the presidential election, defeating the vice President and Democratic Party nominee Kamala Harris in a frenzied race.

Trump was announced the winner of the contest after garnering 279 electoral votes following his victories in the swing states, including Pennsylvania, Georgia and Wisconsin while Harris could only manage to claim 219 votes.

We can recall that Trump’s presidential race and reelection bid was almost marred by literal history, two assassination attempts with thirty-four felons convictions.

During his presidency, Trump was accused of mismanaging COVID-19 pandemic response, and having been impeached twice.

The pre-election journey would be made more memorable in the minds of many Americans after the incumbent President Joe Biden step aside from his reelection bid following his struggle during June Presidential debate where faced difficulties to form sentences.

Trump winning the election just beamed a bright light on how frustrated voters are at inflation and immigration.

There are cited as the two major Republicans’ issues, mirroring their unhappiness and dissatisfaction at how they have been mistreated by the Biden’s administration.

Trump’s return to the White House also projected that the Democrats were not so enthused enough about the having first female president and that its primary anger over the Supreme Court’s revocation of constitutional abortion which has died down since 2022.

U.S. Election: Trump Wins

Personally for Trump, the victory at the presidential polls politically vindicates him and produces legal protection. Because once he is in office, he will be able to undermine criminal cases against him after being accused of handling classified documents while out of office and effort to change the outcome of the 2020 election.

Reacting to his victory, “I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honour of being elected your 47th president and your 45th president,” Trump said.

Trump’s victory might catalyze transformation in both parties which will likely aid his “Make America Great Again” brand of politics with JD Vance, the vice President-elect obviously well stationed to carry on where Trump would leave off after the administration comes to an end in four years.

Democrats will have to work to know what the American voters found distasteful of them, and the rationale behind their choice of president in Trump who had been twice convicted and impeached, and voted, once, out of office.

The President-elect is yet to outline his goals for his second term, but at the debate with Harris, he boasted of having “concept of a plan” when talking about health care and warned that he might be interested in going after political enemy and journalist.

He also stated that he could use his familiarity with the federal bureaucracy to aid the installation of civil servants who have been staying by him.

Considering the chief policy areas where trump could have his imprint are on the global stage where he has become a unvocal supporter for Ukraine; on trade, where he has boasted of tariffs of as high as 100% on some imports, immigration and has supported a mass deportation drive and eradicating the Temporary Protected Status programme.

U.S. Election: Trump Wins

Though, he vowed to “drill, baby, drill” and bring down costs but the economists say his tariffs might raise the prices of many goods as he promised to eradicate tax on tips, overtime and Social Security benefits for seniors.

Aftermath of 2020 election, many Republicans criticized Trump over 6th January< 2021, attacks on U.S. Capitol by his supporters in a bid to stage him to stop the certification and authentication of 2020 election results, which saw one of Trump’s allies, Senator Lindsey Graham, proposing that the Party should abandon Trump and his political brand.

A call which died down later when the then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., ventured down to Mar-a-Lago to ameliorate the situation and re-strategised.

Republicans’ disappointment at 2022 election results caused division within the party. It became worse after the loss of a senate seat and only marginal House gains which led the GOP leaders wondering if then was the time to promote other lawmakers in the party to the rank of party figures.

Millions of dollars spotted aground crowded 2024 GOP primary field, with DeSantis in particular, resting on a monumentally well-healed and involved super PAC to proselytise his rivalling credentials. It did not matter, though.

Pence still could not make it through even before the world experienced 2024. DeSantis ended his bid before the new Hampshire Primary after falling far behind expectations in Iowa.

Eventually, all of the 2024 contenders declared their supports for Trump except for Pence and former governors Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas and Chris Christie of New Jersey, neither of whom came close during the party’s nomination.

Even after clinching the nomination as the GOP’s candidate, Donald Trump’s campaign was ultimately what not it used to be.

Trump was accused of and trialled for handling classified documents after leaving office and his effort to influence the outcomes of the 2020 election results, and money paid to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

U.S. Election: Trump Wins

However, he was able to delay all federal charges brought against him, following his conviction in New York trial of 34 felony counts over payment made to Daniels, but fortunately, he had his sentencing delayed until after the election.

Considering what transpired during the pre-election period, Trump escaped two assassination attempts−the first was in July when a bullet pierced through his right ear−a situation Trump used to as an opportunity to juice his fundraising by emphasizing on his victimhood narrative, though it is not evident that that gave him advantage during election.

But more than any other thing, Trump’s victory at the poll was wheeled by chaos and disinterest, within the Democratic Party, in first female American President.

It was apparent that Trump struggled to attack Harris during debates after she took over from Biden as the Democrats’ nominee.

Howbeit, Trump finally found a way when he said Harris had just four years to fix the country’s failings, caricaturing her argument about what she would do one Day One, arguing that her day one was in 2021.

U.S. Election: Trump Wins.
