Kamala Harris Wins To Represent The Party

Kamala To Be Democratic Party Candidate

In a bid to ensure competitiveness, Vice President Kamara Harris, on Friday, secured required delegate votes to represent the party.

The declaration was made prior to the end of online voting period, yesterday, Monday, 5th August, 2024. The accelerated voting process came in order to ensure adequate preparation for pre-election moves and campaigns which would guarantee success during and after the election.

The decision to have a candidate ready on time came after the Incumbent President, Joe Biden, ended his reelection bid a few days ago which prompted him to endorse his Vice to succeed him in the race.

On Friday, speaking through Chair Jaime Harrison, Democratic National Committee said Kamala Harris said she is “honoured to be the presumptive Democratic Nominee.”

“It’s not going to be easy. But we’re going to get this done, as your future president, I know we are up to this fight,” She added.

He vowed that Democrats, “will rally around Vice President Kamala Harris and demonstrate the strength of our party” during their convention in Chicago later this month.

The National Committee of the party decided against disclosing the breakdown and details of the vote which was virtually monitored by the campaign officials of the party to ensure transparency and accountability.

It was revealed that no other nominee emerged to challenge the candidature of Kamala Harris as she swept all the delegate votes following solidified supports she enjoyed after President Biden’s endorsement.

As the Election period rapidly draws closer, Democrats intensify their efforts to have well-organised campaign structure and plans, in place, before the face off with the Republican Candidate and one-term former President Donald Trump by re-strategising, reemploying the service and expertise of seasoned and experienced staff who ensured post-campaign success during the time of the former President, Barrack Obama.

Expressing her gratitude and joy for the privilege bestowed on her after securing the mandated vote to represent the Democrats during the November election.

“I am honored to be the Democratic nominee for President of the United States. I will officially accept the nomination next week. This campaign is about people coming together, fueled by love of country, to fight for the best of who we are.” Kamala Harris said.

I agree to Fox debate – Donald Trump

Reacting after Kamara Harris clinched the Democratic Party Nominee ticket, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said He agreed hold a debate with the presumptive Democratic Nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, hosted by Fox News.

Meanwhile, the Democrats say their preference is to stay with their initial plan for the ABN News debate. The former President claimed that the Fox debate would hold on 4th September, 2024 was previously scheduled against President Biden who eventually stepped down his reelection bid.

“I have agreed with Fox News to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th. The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant, and I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest,” he said.

In his post on his verified account, Trump disclosed that the debate would be held in Pennsylvania, “at a site in an area to be determined.”

“The Moderators of the Debate will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and the Rules will be similar to the Rules of my Debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been treated horribly by his Party – BUT WITH A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE!” Trump said.

On Saturday, Harris’ campaign said that “Donald Trump is running scared” hoping that he will be bailed out by fox News.

“He needs to stop playing games and show up to the debate he already committed to on Sept. 10,” Michael Tyler, the Harris campaign communication director, said in a statement.

“The Vice President will be there one way or the other to take the opportunity to speak to a prime time national audience.”

Tyler said the campaign is open to accepting further invitation to debates but only after the both campaigns have already agreed to takes place.

“Mr. Anytime, anywhere, anyplace should have no problem with that unless he’s too scared to show up on the 10th,” Tyler added.

In another post on X, formerly Twitter, Kamala Harris said: “It’s interesting how ‘any time, any place’ becomes ‘one specific time, one specific safe space.’ I’ll be there on September 10th, like he agreed to. I hope to see him there.”

Various sources indicate that CBS News has reached out to Fox News that Trump and President Biden, when he was still in the race for the White House, agreed in May to take part in two presidential debates.

One had already been hosted by CNN in June, and the other is to take place on 10th September which is to be hosted by ABC News. Recalling, Kamala Harris, last month, accused the Republican candidate, Donald Trump, for reneging on his promise and agreement to debate 10th September, 2024.

Kamala responding to fielded questions, she told the reporters, “I’m ready.”

President Biden’s poor outing during the first debate fuelled his exit from the race by announcing that he would no longer be seeking reelection. His vice declared her intention to succeed him after the President publicly endorsed her to replace him on the ballot.

A few days ago, despite being disputed among the major figures of the party in recent times, Kamala Harris secured, overwhelmingly, the delegate votes to clinch the party’s presidential ticket.

The Democratic National Convention will be held between 19th and 22nd August, in Chicago.

Note: Kamala Harris secured the Democratic Party ticked to represent them at the forthcoming presidential election, and being already known by the American citizens, he was selected to maintain the party status in the country due to her popularity and familiarity with the system heading into the electioneering period.

Invitations have also been served to the Harris and Trump campaign organisations to participate in vice presidential and presidential debates set to be held in the same month, September.
