  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

  • Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo Alleges Boko Haram Infiltrated Nigerian Military, Links Claim to U.S. Troop Withdrawal

JOS, Nigeria — The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo, has alleged that members of the Boko Haram insurgent group have occupied strategic positions within the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The cleric made the remarks in a video circulated on his social media page, where he discussed the security situation in Nigeria and the recurring violence in parts of the country.

According to Rev. Dachamo, the alleged infiltration of the military was the reason United States military personnel were withdrawn from Nigeria after, he claimed, they received security reports from troops deployed to assess the security situation.

He further alleged that the U.S. personnel had been sent in connection with concerns over what he described as the killing of Christian communities in parts of the country.

Rev. Dachamo did not provide evidence to substantiate his claims during the video.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the United States Government had not publicly confirmed Rev. Dachamo

Superstars rarely celebrate major milestones quietly in the high-stakes world of global entertainment. A standard party simply will not suffice when you carry the title of the “African Giant.”

Shutting Down the Social Media Timeline
Consequently, Grammy Award-winning superstar Damini Ogulu, known globally as Burna Boy, completely shut down the social media timeline for his 35th birthday. He did not just trend online. Instead, he ignited a massive digital frenzy.

Unveiling a Masterpiece of Engineering

The official unveiling of his newest automotive acquisition caused this immense online excitement. He bought a one-of-one, fully custom Venuum Widebody Bugatti Chiron.

Furthermore, reputable sources value this masterpiece of engineering and luxury at a staggering ₦9 billion.

Crowning a New Automotive King
Prominent West African luxury car dealership Abuja Car successfully facilitated the vehicle’s delivery. This historic transaction officially crowns Burna Boy’s vehicle as an unmatched African luxury statement.

Indeed, he now owns one of the most expensive privately owned automobiles on the African continent.

Setting an Precedented Benchmark
By turning his birthday into a historic display of purchasing power, the music icon has set an unprecedented benchmark. He blew past previous records for celebrity splurges.

As a result, he further bridged the gap between Afrobeats royalty and the world’s elite upper echelon.

A Historic Automotive Anomaly

Burna Boy’s new toy is not just a standard factory supercar. On the contrary, it represents a historic automotive anomaly.

Designing a Bespoke Carbon-Fiber Kit
Globally renowned luxury modification house Venuum customized the vehicle. Operating out of Dubai as Venuum Black, they designated the vehicle as the Bugatti Chiron VXX Special Edition.

Venuum previously made headlines when they announced their new design plans. They created a bespoke, full carbon-fiber widebody kit.

Meeting Strict Aesthetic Demands
Furthermore, they explicitly tailored this kit to the musician’s strict aesthetic demands.

An Aggressive Masterpiece of Aerodynamics
Consequently, Venuum confidently boasts that they built the “world’s first widebody Bugatti Chiron.” Visually, the hypercar operates as an aggressive, menacing masterpiece of aerodynamics.

Engraving the Signature of Ownership
Sweeping carbon-fiber lines, flared wheel arches, and bespoke aesthetic accents characterize the exterior.
The most definitive personal touch, however, sits proudly at the rear. The designers boldly engraved “Burna Boy” graphics across the massive, custom carbon-fiber rear wing. Therefore, this striking detail serves as an immutable signature of ownership.

Unleashing a Mechanical Monster
Underneath the radical Venuum body modifications, the car remains a terrifying mechanical monster. Bugatti’s legendary 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine powers the Chiron.

Launching at Maximum Velocity

This engine produces an astonishing 1,500 horsepower. Because of this power, the car launches from 0 to 60 mph in a neck-snapping 2.3 seconds.

Additionally, an electronic governor limits the top speed to 261 mph. This engineering marvel perfectly mirrors the explosive, unstoppable trajectory of Burna Boy’s global career.

The Climax of a Manifestation Arc
For dedicated followers of the superstar, the arrival of the Bugatti VXX was no surprise. Instead, it represented the climax of a highly publicized manifestation arc.

Teasing the Vision Online

Months prior to the actual delivery, Burna Boy dropped explicit teasers across his social media handles. He clearly stated his desire for a highly specific vehicle.

Moving the Deal in Secret
Many casual onlookers quickly dismissed his words as standard celebrity wishful thinking. However, the business partners already had a major deal in motion behind the scenes.

Delivering on a Golden Promise
By delivering exactly what he teased, the Venuum family and Abuja Car made the dream an absolute reality. They completed the trimmings just in time for his July birthday festivities.

A Layer of Poetic Triumph

Furthermore, the timing of the delivery added a layer of poetic triumph to the moment. The unveiling occurred right as Burna Boy wrapped up a monumental headlining set.

Performing on a Global Stage
He performed at the Afro Nation Portugal festival on the beautiful beaches of Portimão.
While singing to tens of thousands of fans on a global stage, the singer entered a deeply reflective state.

Honoring the Roots of Port Harcourt

He dedicated portions of his set to his roots in Port Harcourt. He also noted that many childhood peers did not live to see such heights.
Ultimately, the subsequent reveal of the ₦9 billion hypercar acted as the ultimate exclamation point. It crowned his journey from the streets of Rivers State to the peak of global affluence.

Fracturing the Digital Timeline
As with any display of extreme wealth in a developing economy, the internet quickly fractured into intense debate. This division occurred immediately after the car’s big reveal.

Celebrating a Cultural Victory
Millions of passionate fans celebrated the purchase as a massive victory for African entertainment. On the other hand, critics aggressively flooded comment sections on X and Instagram.

Questioning the Pragmatism of Luxury
These detractors loudly questioned the pragmatism of the purchase. A recurring critique wondered how a vehicle built for smooth European tracks could navigate Nigeria’s roads. They pointed specifically to the notorious, pothole-riddled streets.
Taking the Fight to the Stage

Burna Boy, true to his unapologetic and combative nature, wasted no time addressing his critics. He completely refused to issue a sanitized public relations statement. Instead, he took the fight directly to the stage during his live Afro Nation performance.

Rapping the Truth to the Crowd

Consequently, the crowd erupted in wild cheers. He compared his own resilience to Julius Berger, Nigeria’s premier, heavy-duty construction giant. Through this comparison, Burna Boy effectively silenced the noise.

Expanding a Jaw-Dropping Garage
The freestyle instantly went viral across TikTok and X. This moment proved that “Odogwu” is completely unbothered by societal expectations.

Today, the Chiron joins an already jaw-dropping garage that houses other ultra-luxury exotics. His collection includes a bespoke Lamborghini Revuelto and a Rolls-Royce Spectre. Thus, he cements his status as a premier collector of fine machinery.

Redefining the Cultural Ceiling
Shifting the Earning Power of Creatives
Ultimately, Burna Boy’s ₦9 billion birthday splurge represents more than just an exercise in ego. It is not merely a massive financial flex., Rather, it represents a permanent shift in the earning power of African creatives.

Moving Beyond Regional Limitations
An older era previously viewed African musicians purely as regional acts. They relied heavily on local sponsorships and modest performance fees.

Commanding Wealth on a Global Scale
Today, artists like Burna Boy command wealth on par with Hollywood A-listers. They achieve this through global streaming dominance and sold-out stadium tours across America and Europe.

Securing High-Value Partnerships
They also secure high-value partnerships, such as his upcoming collaboration with Shakira for the 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem.
A Rolling Monument to African Success
The custom Venuum Bugatti Chiron stands as a rolling monument to that reality. It sends a definitive message to the world.
