• Tinubu Urges Plateau State Governor to Include Hausa/Fulani in his Cabinet, and also Recognize Them as Indigenes

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on political leaders in Plateau State to embrace inclusive governance by appointing members of the Hausa/Fulani community to key positions in the state government and recognizing them as indigenes of the state.

The President made the remarks during a high-level dialogue meeting with political, traditional, and religious leaders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Addressing participants at the meeting, Tinubu stressed that sustainable peace and development in Plateau State require fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all communities.

  • Goldman Sachs Lowers 2027 Brent Oil Price Forecast Over Supply Growth, Demand Risks

Goldman Sachs has reduced its forecast for Brent crude oil prices in 2027, citing expectations of increased global oil supply and growing concerns over weaker demand.

The investment bank said rising production from major oil-producing countries, coupled with uncertainties surrounding global economic growth, could place downward pressure on oil prices in the coming years.

Analysts noted that slower economic activity in key markets and the increasing adoption of alternative energy sources may affect long-term demand for crude oil.

The revised outlook comes as energy markets continue to monitor geopolitical developments, production policies by major exporters, and changing consumption patterns worldwide.

Mumuni:  2027: No candidate can defeat Tinubu as Zulum calls Information Minister ‘naïve’

In preparation for the next Presidential Election, Abayomi Mumuni has described President Bola Tinubu unchallengeable.

On Friday, in a statement which was made available to the media, the chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, has claimed that no existing candidate can defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027

The APC Ambassador, in his Friday’s statement, stated that as it stands, there are no oppositions with formidable structures to pose a serious threat to the reelection of President Tinubu in the next presidential election.

Although, he noted that political framework in the country is rigid, it is apparent that various opposition parties are bereft of the collective organization and resources required to effectually stage a political contest in 2027.

Mumuni, while stressing further, the lack of cohesion among the opposition parties and sound policies that resonate with the electorates poses a major difficulty for opposition parties to oust the incumbent president in 2027.

He also revealed that without the required structures and tactics in motion, it is very difficult to unseat Tinubu in 2027.

“The reality we face is one where, at present, there are no opposition parties with the viable structures necessary to mount a serious challenge to President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

“The political framework in Nigeria is complex. However, it is evident that many opposition parties lack the cohesive organization and resources required to effectively contest the presidency.

“The absence of a united front and clear policies that resonate with voters poses significant challenges.

“Historically, successful opposition movements have required not only robust grassroots structures but also a synergy of purpose and vision.

“We must acknowledge that the current opposition parties struggle to engage and mobilize their bases effectively, which begs the question of their capability to launch a formidable challenge in 2027.

“The Nigerian electorate is discerning and has demonstrated a willingness to support leaders who instill confidence and reliability.

Our lack of visibility and failures to cultivate trust among the populace have created an uphill battle against the incumbency advantage.

“No incumbent president has been easily unseated without a robust, organized, and coordinated opposition.

“President Tinubu has established a solid foundation and continues to build upon it.

Without the necessary structures and strategies in place, displacing him in 2027 could very well be a walkover.

“Given these dynamics, it may be prudent for all political gladiators to consider working alongside the president for the time being.

“Collaboration does not equate to submission; rather, it indicates a strategic maneuver to influence governance positively and prepare to regroup for future competitions,” Mumuni concluded

Insurgency: Minister Of Information Naïve – Zulum

Amidst ongoing insurgency and the free operations of terrorists in Northern Nigeria, Governor Bavagana Umara Zulum of Borno States had responded to a a report which proposed that the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, rebuffed the recent issues and concerns he raised over the security issues in the Northern state.

Earlier, Zulum stated that Boko Haram had reinforced its attacks and kidnapping in the state without any counter-attack by the security forces, proposing that the security architecture in the state is losing its grip.

He made this statement in a meeting with the security forces in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Tuesday.

Reports, recent days, indicated that Boko Haram and its offshoot, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), have boosted their operations attacking and killing security forces and civilians, and also displacing several others.

Howbeit, the Minister was quoted to have shrugged off the governor’s assertion.

According to a statement signed by the Minister of Information’s Special Assistant on Media, Rabiu Ibrahim, the governor’s assertion was described ‘false and a false distortion of the remarks made by the Minister.’

“At no time did the Minister say, ‘Ignore Zulum, Boko Haram is not taking over Borno.’ Such a headline is not only sensational but deliberately crafted as a deliberate act of misinformation to stoke public misunderstanding and distract from the serious work the

Federal Government is doing to address security challenges,” the statement said.

Reacting to the Minister of Information’s, Mohammed Idris’, remark, Zulum said in an interview that the Information Minister is naïve of what is happening in the country.

He said: “I don’t want to join issues with the Minister of Information. I believe he is naive of what is happening in the country, he doesn’t know what is ongoing in the country.

“Our discussions during the Security Council meeting were not bad. We just raised an alarm that there is resurgence of Boko Haram activities in Borno State, and there is a need for Borno state government, the military as well as paramilitary, to work together in order to avert the looming situation. I think this is very good advice. Nothing has been said again.

“But most importantly, I want to assure you that we have been to Abuja. We met the service chief, especially the CDS, Chief of Army Staff, Naval Staff, as well as Air staff.

“We received assurances from them that they will do everything possible to control the situation, and we are so happy with the response that we had from the service chiefs and the government of Bono state will continue to partner with the Nigerian military and the federal government of Nigeria with their view to reducing the menace of the insurgency.

“And I want to assure the people of Bono that Inshallah, under my watch Boko Haram will not have the capacity to do what they did before.

“We shall do everything possible to curtail them. The Government of Borno State will provide more support to the Nigerian army.

“We shall strengthen the resilience of our civilian GTF, hunters and vigilante and most especially, I will live up to the expectations of the people of God by completely addressing the problem of insecurity.

“I believe, when we took over from 2019 to date, there is a very serious gap. What has been happening these days will not be allowed to remain unchanged.”
