• Tinubu Urges Plateau State Governor to Include Hausa/Fulani in his Cabinet, and also Recognize Them as Indigenes

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on political leaders in Plateau State to embrace inclusive governance by appointing members of the Hausa/Fulani community to key positions in the state government and recognizing them as indigenes of the state.

The President made the remarks during a high-level dialogue meeting with political, traditional, and religious leaders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Addressing participants at the meeting, Tinubu stressed that sustainable peace and development in Plateau State require fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all communities.

  • Goldman Sachs Lowers 2027 Brent Oil Price Forecast Over Supply Growth, Demand Risks

Goldman Sachs has reduced its forecast for Brent crude oil prices in 2027, citing expectations of increased global oil supply and growing concerns over weaker demand.

The investment bank said rising production from major oil-producing countries, coupled with uncertainties surrounding global economic growth, could place downward pressure on oil prices in the coming years.

Analysts noted that slower economic activity in key markets and the increasing adoption of alternative energy sources may affect long-term demand for crude oil.

The revised outlook comes as energy markets continue to monitor geopolitical developments, production policies by major exporters, and changing consumption patterns worldwide.

She said, “Just finished defending my PhD. I just turned Dr Mrs Joke Muyiwa. Congratulations to me”

Joke Muyiwa is a veteran who started her career as a stage play actress in the late 1970s.

She has been featured in several movies such as Odaju Omo, Afowoka, Ayitale, Afowofa and Shakabula.

This latest feat by Muyiwa means that the Yoruba movie industry has three publicised doctorate holders with Eniola Olaniyan and Saidi Balogun already on the list.

The veteran actress is currently a lecturer at the Department of Performing Arts at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.

She finished her M.Phil at the University of Ibadan and got her PhD at Redeemers University.

Joke Muyiwa is a Nigerian film actress and academic staff at Olabisi Onabanjo University in the department of Performing arts.

Congratulatory messages have been flowing in for the veteran actress to felicitate with her on the successful completion and defence of her PhD Programme in Theater Arts at the Redeemer’s University.

@Seyi Edun wrote “Congratulations mummy”

@clarionchukwurah wrote “Congratulations to you my sister, so proud of you. You consistently travelled the entire nine yards”

@biolabayo1 wrote “Congratulations mom! This is really huge. Eku orire ma.”

In an interview, when asked if she is looking forward to becoming a professor, she said:

“Of course, yes. Incidentally now, I am a Principal Art Fellow, which is what they call my designation, that is, someone who combines teaching with practice.

So, that is an Art Fellow, which is equivalent to an associate professor.”

“We were not interested in the fame even though fame came with it, so if you are acting and fame and money come, it is fine.

Now they want fame and money first before anything, but then the passion and love we had for the profession kept us going.

Now the love for fame and glamour is what is keeping them but they are not being kept, that is why you see them gone in four to five years because some of them would not be able to endure the heat.”

Her prominent role in Femi Adebayo’s movie titled ‘Ayitale’ fetched her the 5th Best of Nollywood Awards.

Veteran actor, Sola Fosudo was also present at the academic defence.
