  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

  • Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo Alleges Boko Haram Infiltrated Nigerian Military, Links Claim to U.S. Troop Withdrawal

JOS, Nigeria — The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo, has alleged that members of the Boko Haram insurgent group have occupied strategic positions within the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The cleric made the remarks in a video circulated on his social media page, where he discussed the security situation in Nigeria and the recurring violence in parts of the country.

According to Rev. Dachamo, the alleged infiltration of the military was the reason United States military personnel were withdrawn from Nigeria after, he claimed, they received security reports from troops deployed to assess the security situation.

He further alleged that the U.S. personnel had been sent in connection with concerns over what he described as the killing of Christian communities in parts of the country.

Rev. Dachamo did not provide evidence to substantiate his claims during the video.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the United States Government had not publicly confirmed Rev. Dachamo

Nigel Farage’s resignation as MP for Clacton has turned a parliamentary standards controversy into a wider test of political money, democratic accountability and migration politics. With major parties refusing to contest the by-election, the episode raises urgent questions about whether electoral theatre can be used to weaken parliamentary scrutiny — and what that means for African diasporas in Britain, Ireland and at home....

Kano—

Popular singers, Teni Makanaki and Ice Prince, have opened up on the physical and mental demands of their weight loss journeys.

Teni  sparked conversations online during the weeks when she responded to fans  who criticized her slimmer appearance conversations online during the week after responding to critics who questioned her slimmer physique.

The reactions followed a video she shared with Olamide to promote their new song, Zion. In the video, Teni wore a fitted red outfit, with gold chains and styled with bantu knots, making her slimmer frame more noticeable than the oversized looks she is often associated with.

An X user, Otunba Bini, expressed concern over her appearance, posting “Should we be concerned about Teni’s size or should we mind our business? How Teni went from plus size to this present size that looks summarised is something that I think should be concerning.”she stated
Reacting, the artist wrote, “If you know wetin I face to lose this weight, you go happy for me.”

The  singer had previously addressed speculations surrounding her transformation, stating that she did not undergo surgery. She further noted that she achieved the results naturally through exercise and a strict diet plan.

In a similar vein, Ice Prince also spoke on his body transformation while announcing the release of his latest album days later.

Sharing details of his weight loss routine on Instagram, the rapper listed habits he adopted, including cutting out sugar, alcohol, soda, bread and pasta, quitting smoking, regular exercise, daily walks, healthier meals and maintaining consistent sleep patterns.

“Ginger tea, green tea or black coffee daily. OMAD four times a week and TWOMAD three times weekly. 50 % protein, 30 % vegetables, and 20 % carbohydrates. 10pm bedtime, six to seven hours of sleep, 1 hour read daily, chew gum, and mind my business. I have never tried, nor had any interest in trying any drug, substance, or supplement in my life. New album out tomorrow” he posted

Their revelations have since sparked conversations online, with many fans praising their discipline, while others debated the pressures celebrities face over body image and appearance.

Ice Prince had earlier spoken about his weight loss journey in January, stressing that any guy who eats breakfast is a “Barbie”

Speaking on the Echo Room podcast, Ice Prince said his decision to take fitness seriously followed a conversation with producer Chopsticks in early 2025.

He recalled Chopsticks telling him that for the next album, “we need to give them a new look, we need to lose the belly, grow the beard,” a remark the rapper said “just sunk in a way that I had never heard before.

He also shared another statement from Chopsticks that shaped his approach: “Everything that goes into your mouth is supposed to be medicine; everything that goes into your mouth should play a role in your body.

Bimbo Fires At Street Boys In Lagos.
Nollywood actress and producer Bimbo Ademoye has challenged street extortion after a clash with suspected area boys, who disrupted a film shoot, insisting that creatives should not be coerced into paying arbitrary fees to operate.

The actress was seen in a viral video challenging a group of men who allegedly demanded a fixed payment before allowing a  film shooting to continue at a location.
Ademoye, vehemently rejected the demand and made it clear she would not be pressured.

Speaking in Yoruba, she declared: “Omo Igboro ni mi” (I am a child of the streets), portraying her familiarity with such situations while drawing a line against what she described as an entitlement.

The actress further questioned the basis of the demand, insisting no individual has the authority to impose payments on her or her team.

Expressing her distress in Yoruba,Adeyemo said “Ko si iyalaya anybody to sise owo si mi lowo” — meaning ‘Nobody has the right to forcefully demand money from me’.

Ademoye had earlier last month addressed claims that she uses emotional displays to promote her films.

Reacting to the allegations, she maintained that her reactions are genuine and rooted in the realities of filmmaking.

She stressed that her projects require significant personal investment, both financially and emotionally, rejecting suggestions that her tears are a calculated marketing strategy.

“Don’t do that. Am I supposed to be battling people over stealing my film title and thumbnail? Do you think I just pick people’s pictures and merge them together? I organise proper photoshoots. I still pay for thumbnails and posters, only for someone to steal my hard work. Then someone says this is a strategy. What bloody strategy?” she said

The news was first shared on Friday by Bewaji via Instagram, where she expressed gratitude for a safe delivery.

“Alhamdullillah,” she wrote, while also tagging what appears to be the newborn’s Instagram page, which identifies the child as Jamal Iremide.

Portable also took to social media to celebrate the arrival of his son, offering appreciation to Bewaji for the new addition to his family. “God bless you more, Omoleye Omobewaji mi. Thanks for making me happy,” he wrote

The birth coincided with the singer’s loss to Carter Efe in a celebrity boxing match decided by unanimous decision. Portable said he’s not bothered about the defeat stressing that he found greater joy in welcoming his child than in winning the bout

“Have given birth, congratulations to me. I thought I would carry a belt, but I carried my child instead. You can buy a belt with money, but you can’t buy a child,” he said.

“While my wife was in labour, I was fighting. She gave birth to a boy. I wanted a third belt for my children; I already have two. I have given birth, you can have the belt.”

The newborn is the third child shared by Portable and Bewaji. The singer had previously stirred reactions in 2022 after revealing plans to have 12 wives before the age of 40.
