President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on political leaders in Plateau State to embrace inclusive governance by appointing members of the Hausa/Fulani community to key positions in the state government and recognizing them as indigenes of the state.

The President made the remarks during a high-level dialogue meeting with political, traditional, and religious leaders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Addressing participants at the meeting, Tinubu stressed that sustainable peace and development in Plateau State require fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all communities.

  • Goldman Sachs Lowers 2027 Brent Oil Price Forecast Over Supply Growth, Demand Risks

Goldman Sachs has reduced its forecast for Brent crude oil prices in 2027, citing expectations of increased global oil supply and growing concerns over weaker demand.

The investment bank said rising production from major oil-producing countries, coupled with uncertainties surrounding global economic growth, could place downward pressure on oil prices in the coming years.

Analysts noted that slower economic activity in key markets and the increasing adoption of alternative energy sources may affect long-term demand for crude oil.

The revised outlook comes as energy markets continue to monitor geopolitical developments, production policies by major exporters, and changing consumption patterns worldwide.

Salah signs contract extension at Liverpool as the forward commits future until 2027

Following months of uncertainty and doubts surrounding the future of Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, the forward finally signs extension.

Mo Salah has committed his future to Liverpool after agreeing a new contract set to keep him at Anfield for two more years−2027

It was a great delight to the Reds that their most decisive player has finally ended the speculations surrounding his future at Anfield by signing new deal.

The 32-year-old Egyptian puts pen to paper on Friday morning, which is understood to keep him at the club for two more years.

This has come as a major boosts for Liverpool, considering Salah’s reed-hot form this season, aiding them towards lifting their 20th Premier League title in May.

The Egypt international has been instrumental to Liverpool success in recent years, helping them to win a Champions League title, EPL title, an FA Cup and two league cups in addition to a UEFA Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup.

Salah’s unstoppable form, this season, has helped fire Liverpool to the summit of the EPL with 27 goals and 17 assists.

Salah Signs Contract Extension At Liverpool

“Of course I’m very excited,” said Salah to Liverpool’s official club channels. “We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.

“It’s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.

“I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together.

“Keep supporting us and we’ll give it our best, and hopefully in the future we’re going to win more trophies.”

Liverpool manager Arne Slot stated during his press conference: “Happy of course. He’s shown at this club for so many years in a row now how much value he has for the team and for the club.

“As are all the fans and his team-mates, we are very happy he has extended for two more years. Hopefully he can show on Sunday [against West Ham,] how important he has been for the whole season to us.

“For the fans, it’s a relief. I don’t think it’s a surprise to you that I knew a bit better how his contract situation went over the course of the whole season. I knew for a while that things were heading in the right direction.

“It’s also a big compliment for Richard Hughes to extend Mo Salah, who is such a great player and as a free agent can probably go to any club in the world, wherever he wants to, but he stayed at our club. That’s also a compliment for Richard Hughes.

“I was part of that process, but I don’t think I deserve the compliments. First of all, it’s Mo’s choice and his agent’s choice for what he wants. Then the club, FSG,

Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards, they put in a lot of effort in him to extend.

Effort mostly means money! But also effort, not only money!

“What it might tell you is that it’s not only a good season this season, we want to have a good season next season as well. I think Mo is convinced that there is a fair chance that we are able to do so. Again, that’s positive for us.”

In reaction to Mo Salah’s decision to extend his playing stay at Liverpool, Arne Slot said it is a big compliment he is staying.

Update on Van Dijk and Trent

Reports of Salah extending his stay at Liverpool is expected to boost new Liverpool deal for Virgil Van Dijk. Reports already stated last week that Liverpool had started discussions over a new deal for the Dutchman.

“You know the answer. The boring answer,” said Slot about Van Dijk’s future. “We talk about contracts if they are signed. In the situation of Mo, we’re talking about it.

“I can tell you that I’m very happy with Virgil, he’s been incredible for us. Even the last few games where there were moments he could do better but if you look at the other 89 minutes he’s such an important player.

“Let’s hope he can do the same as Mo, to be our leader again. Being our leader against West Ham on Sunday.”

Similarly, Liverpool have always been confident that Van Dijk will also commit his future to the club and will remain beyond the summer.

“There is progress,” Van Dijk said when asked about his contract situation on Sunday. “These are internal discussions and we’ll see. I love the club.”

Van Dijk is 33 years old, has features for Liverpool in every Premier League match this season.

However, Real Madrid remain in the hunt for Trend Alexander-Arnold and are confident of tying up a deal for him when his contract, with Liverpool, expires in the summer.

Talks are believed to progress between Trent and Real Madrid, and the defender favors a move to Spanish capital.

How Long Will Salah Remain With Liverpool?

According to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot during his press conference: “Salah has always been judged as a player.

“But I also see him as a human being, always wants to work hard and always puts a lot of effort in to become the player he has become. He wants to stay at that level and wants to bring that effort every single day.

“What makes him special on the pitch is he can score goals, he can do it when he’s not in the best half hour or 15 minutes. That’s why he’s mentally so strong.

“You need to be that if you want to play for seven or eight years at the highest level, playing every three or four days.

Apart from quality of physique, you have to be mentally strong. How mentally strong he is, that’s what stands out for me.

“We’re always trying to achieve a bit more as a team. But if you’re playing at Liverpool, you’re probably coming to the maximum level of your ability.

“So there is not a lot of room for improvement for Mo, or the other players anymore. So you’re trying to reach perfection.

“We are trying to bring the best and the maximum out of the players to find that one or two per cent extra. But it’s clear that Mo is coming close to the end. Not to the end of his career, but the end of his ability.

Salah Signs Contract Extension At Liverpool

“We have brought almost the maximum out of his qualities this season. And then it’s about consistency, which is one of the most difficult things in football. That is why he has been seen as such a star player.”

Analysis: The New Deal Shows The Ambition Of Salah and Liverpool

In this analysis of Sky Sports News’ Vinny O’Connor at Liverpool’s training ground: “It will be a relief in some parts. It has come at an opportune moment in the season where Liverpool have lost three out of their last four games. So this is a bit of a boost and a bit of good news.

“It’s a relief to the fans, a relief to everyone here and Arne Slot – the fact that Liverpool don’t have to go searching for a replacement immediately and they can move forward with Salah in their team for the next two years at least.

“These have been negotiations that have going on for several months headed by sporting director Richard Hughes.

“There seemed to be a will on both sides – the football club and from Mo Salah to get this deal done.

“Liverpool say their ambition is to recruit the best talent and it must go in hand with the sporting and financial and overall best interests of the football club – which is why this deal has taken a little bit of a while to come to fruition because Salah himself is looking for the best possible deal.

“When you look at Salah’s record since joining Liverpool in 2017, there is no question that he belongs in the highest echelons in world football and among the world’s most outstanding footballers.

“This new deal is showing the ambition of Liverpool and Salah over the next couple of years as well.

“It shows their ambition to continue to grow under Arne Slot, as well as keep the best talent at the football club.

“The next step, and we’re expecting it in the coming days and weeks, is that Virgil van Dijk will stay as well.”
