  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

  • Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo Alleges Boko Haram Infiltrated Nigerian Military, Links Claim to U.S. Troop Withdrawal

JOS, Nigeria — The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo, has alleged that members of the Boko Haram insurgent group have occupied strategic positions within the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The cleric made the remarks in a video circulated on his social media page, where he discussed the security situation in Nigeria and the recurring violence in parts of the country.

According to Rev. Dachamo, the alleged infiltration of the military was the reason United States military personnel were withdrawn from Nigeria after, he claimed, they received security reports from troops deployed to assess the security situation.

He further alleged that the U.S. personnel had been sent in connection with concerns over what he described as the killing of Christian communities in parts of the country.

Rev. Dachamo did not provide evidence to substantiate his claims during the video.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the United States Government had not publicly confirmed Rev. Dachamo

Nigel Farage’s resignation as MP for Clacton has turned a parliamentary standards controversy into a wider test of political money, democratic accountability and migration politics. With major parties refusing to contest the by-election, the episode raises urgent questions about whether electoral theatre can be used to weaken parliamentary scrutiny — and what that means for African diasporas in Britain, Ireland and at home....

The contemporary Nigerian cultural landscape is undergoing a monumental evolution. Long ago, global audiences recognized the country as a formidable powerhouse for raw entertainment. Now, Nigeria rapidly rewrites the playbook on artistic expression, commercial viability, and lifestyle consciousness.

Witnessing a Systemic Renaissance
This cultural shift represents a profound, systemic renaissance rather than a mere incremental upgrade. Consequently, Nigeria’s creative ecosystem experiences unprecedented growth. Infectious syncopated rhythms dominate global audio streams. Meanwhile, domestic cinemas achieve historic, barrier-breaking milestones.

Adopting a Parallel Revolution
Concurrently, a subtle yet definitive parallel revolution takes root in the daily choices of the people. This modern movement toward holistic health and conscious wellness prove something vital. Specifically, it shows that the nation completely transforms from both the outside world and the inside out.

The Unforgiving Airplay: Afrobeats and the Summer of Sonic Dominance
The global influence of Nigerian music long ago transcended casual novelty. Today, the current sonic landscape demonstrates a level of chart curation and artistic output that staggers onlookers.

Locking Down the Industry
An extraordinary run of musical dominance defines the definitive narrative of the season. Calculated cross-genre collaborations and deep emotional vulnerability characterize these hits. Currently, Asake leads this charge. His creative output places the entire industry in an unbreakable chokehold.

Capturing the Spirit
He captures the definitive spirit of the season through tracks like “Chanel.” This high-energy collaboration with Blaqbonez features a brilliant nod to nostalgic hip-hop hooks.

Demanding Sonic Versatility
Yet, the true depth of this musical era lies in its sonic versatility. Asake’s solo offerings, “Forgiveness” and “Gratitude,” systematically lock down the highest echelons of the official TurnTable Top 100. They show an introspective, deeply vulnerable side that balances his signature high-tempo style.

Defining a Broader Trend
This duality of energy and emotion defines a broader industry trend. For example, listeners hear it in the continuous resonance of Omah Lay’s introspective track, “I AM.”

Dominating the Global Stage
Furthermore, Wizkid and Asake extend their chart longevity through their joint effort, “Jogodo.” Industry heavyweights like Davido also return aggressively. He broke a brief recording hiatus with his new single, “I Know Who I Be.”

Becoming an Essential Commodity
Meanwhile, Young Jonn dominates TikTok with his viral hit, “Elumelu.” These successes indicate a thriving market with boundless consumer appetite for premium content. On a global scale, Burna Boy collaborates with Shakira on “Dai Dai” for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Thus, these moments solidify Afrobeats as an essential global commodity.

Matching the Sonic Velocity
Simultaneously, the Nigerian film industry matches this musical velocity with a dramatic structural transformation of its own. Historically, Nollywood relied almost exclusively on the lucrative December festive window for box office achievements.

Shattering Seasonal Dependency
The current theatrical season, however, fundamentally shatters this seasonal dependency. Therefore, filmmakers prove that Nigerian audiences possess a year-round appetite for premium storytelling.

Grossing Millions in Off-Season
The historic theatrical run of the romance drama Call of My Life provides definitive proof of this shift. FilmOne Entertainment distributed the film.

Securing the All-Time Top 10
The movie maintains a legendary grip on the box office and grosses over ₦498 million. It consistently holds the number-one spot for consecutive weekends. By pushing toward the ₦600 million milestone in a non-holiday season, it officially enters the all-time Top 10.

Commanding Audience Attention
Consequently, it proves that strategic marketing and high production value command audience attention at any calendar point. The box office resilience of Ajosepo: The Gathering closely supports this commercial triumph. This film recently crossed its own ₦100 million milestone.

Embracing Thematic Diversity
Beyond pure numbers, bold thematic diversity heavily reflects the industry’s evolution. Filmmakers take massive creative risks rather than leaning safely on repetitive romantic comedies.

Showcasing Cultural Splendor
Audiences flock to cinemas to watch Ìwé Àlà (An Ojúde Ọba Story). This vibrant cultural drama beautifully leverages the aesthetic splendor and rich heritage of the famous festival.

Experimenting with Gritty Thrillers
Concurrently, the industry experiments with high-budget genre pieces. For instance, director Akinola Davies Jr. delivers Alive Till Dawn, a gritty, Abuja-based zombie thriller. This film pushes the boundaries of domestic visual effects.

Maturing into a Powerhouse
Additionally, Judith Audu produces EVI, a rare psychological musical drama. This creative bravery, paired with Netflix’s Blood Sisters: Season Two, signals a rapidly maturing industry. Nollywood is transforming into a complex, sophisticated cinematic powerhouse.

Examining the Internal Paradigm Shift
Analysts cannot fully appreciate this external creative explosion without examining the internal paradigm shift of modern African professionals. Today, cultural architects dominate screens and airwaves.

Replacing Reactionary Healthcare
Concurrently, a vital parallel conversation around metabolic health, functional nutrition, and preventative wellness takes center stage. A highly proactive, data-driven wellness culture systematically replaces the traditional, reactionary approach to healthcare.

Integrating Clean Ancestral Ingredients
Urban consumers view their dietary choices through a medicinal lens. Global research and an increasing awareness of bio-individuality drive this trend.

Optimizing the Gut Microbiome
Therefore, individuals consciously integrate adaptogens and clean ancestral ingredients. They target lifestyle modifications to manage internal cortisol levels and chronic systemic inflammation. People actively seek out foods and routines that optimize their gut microbiome.

Preserving Vitality for Success
Furthermore, they preserve skeletal muscle mass. They recognize that true vitality forms the foundation for creative and economic success.

Discovering Sustainable Foundations
This emphasis on internal wellness beautifully mirrors the premium quality observed in music and film. The modern Nigerian discovers a new truth. Long-term cultural dominance requires a sustainable, highly optimized physical foundation.

The Cohesive Future of an Empire
Ultimately, these distinct movements within music, cinema, and health do not exist in isolation. Instead, they form interconnected threads of a singular, soaring national narrative.

Witnessing a Self-Sustaining Empire
The world no longer just observes a country trying to find its creative footing. Instead, global audiences witness a highly sophisticated, self-sustaining cultural empire.

Establishing the Blueprint
This empire dictates international trends while consciously prioritizing the internal well-being of its people. Nollywood continues to break financial records daily. Meanwhile, Afrobeats soundscapes dominate global stages, and conscious health practices fortify the community. Thus, Nigeria firmly establishes a blueprint for holistic, enduring cultural dominance.
