In these dire economic trends worldwide, how to stay fashionably fly without breaking the bank is a must-read for anyone with a luxury mindset.

Staying fashionable is considered to be a luxury in this day and age.

Let’s face it: We live in an unprecedented time when the cost of living is overbearing, and everything spirals out of control.

The things we used to consider mundane have now become luxuries and are out of reach for many.

I remember those days when I would conveniently spend some money to shop for about five different fashionable items.

It is seemingly impossible to purchase those items with the same amount now.

This is heartbreaking, and this shift is driven by many factors, such as skyrocketing costs and inflation.

Gone are the days when frivolous spending was fun.

With this current economy, shopping for fashionable pieces is an investment that you must be meticulous about.

Our approach to spurling flippantly on fashionable items has changed.

Thanks to the prevailing economy, every purchase must be well thought out, planned, prioritised, and scrutinised.

The joke is that in this economy, you may need to remind yourself after every purchase that nobody stole your money; we find this laughable!

So, I am curious to know how you are holding up. We decided to take a poll, and the ladies and gentlemen chimed in, dropping gems and tips on how to stay fashionably fly.

According to Tilewa, a fashion enthusiast in Lagos, ‘’This season is not the time to invest in clothes, shoes, jewellery or other fashionable items; this is the time to eat well before considering other options.”

Another enthusiast lamented “the state of things, saying the prices of fashionable items keep increasing.”

She further said that “the quality of the best fashionable pieces is too expensive, making it challenging to do” girl maintenance ” in this economy. We agree!

Admittedly, times are complex, and staying fashionably fly is even more challenging. However, finding joy and doing those you love is essential.

HERE ARE SIX SUSTAINABLE IDEAS THAT WILL HELP YOU TO STAY FASHIONABLE FLY WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK:

UNDERSTAND HOW TO STYLE YOUR BASICS AND SWITCH UP YOUR STYLE: one of the ethos of staying fashionably fly is knowing how to style your fashionable pieces.

You need to understand the rudiments of styling your basics and know when to switch things up.

Many people complain of having nothing to wear. It is not just about how many clothes you have but also how well you can style them.

Look through your closet, and don’t be afraid to combine, layer, mix, and match your ensemble. It would be best to get acquainted with it.

Avail yourself of the opportunity to seek style inspiration. Many fashion enthusiasts are on social media with platforms that support styling; be sure to check them out.

REVISIT YOUR WARDROBE/UPSCALE YOUR FASHIONABLE PIECES/RECYCLE: We love the idea of recycling clothes because it allows us to style our clothes even better and curb the excesses that come with having to shop all the time.

We encourage you to wear your clothes multiple times over and over again.

BEEF UP YOUR WARDROBE IN TIMES OF PLENTY: One of the male fashion enthusiasts we spoke with dropped this gem that resonates with us.

More often than not, the resources available are barely enough to cater to your fashionable needs. However, you must prioritise and draw a reasonable budget to cater to this.

By all means, beef up your wardrobe. It is essential to do this often. We find this to be true and quite helpful.

INVEST IN TIMELESS CLASSIC PIECES: Investing in classic pieces guarantees peace of mind.

Investing in timeless classic pieces will most likely discourage you from shopping from time to time because your fashionable pieces are durable and can stand the test of time.

HAVE A SOUND MAINTENANCE CULTURE: It’s not enough to purchase or invest in fashionable items; you must maintain them without constant shopping.

Ensure that your fashionable pieces retain their quality and beauty for longer.

FIND JOY IN DRESSING UP TO LOOK FASHIONABLY FLY: We will not shove aside the emotional connection that comes with looking fashionably fly.

Please don’t make it a chore; continue to slay effortlessly and find joy in your work.
