• 🇺🇸🇳🇬 US TO WITHDRAW ABOUT 200 TROOPS FROM NIGERIA BY SEPTEMBER The United States is preparing to withdraw about 200 military personnel from Nigeria by late September, according to reports citing US military officials. Smaller teams of American trainers and intelligence personnel are expected to remain in Nigeria as Washington continues its security partnership with the country. The US deployment, which began earlier this year, focused on intelligence, surveillance, training and counterterrorism support. US Africa Command Commander, Gen. Dagvin Anderson, said many American troops had already been withdrawn following a May operation in the Lake Chad Basin that killed Abu Bilal al-Minuki, described by US officials as a senior Islamic State leader. Anderson said the operation significantly weakened ISIS leadership and stressed that intelligence cooperation with Nigeria would continue. The Pentagon has described the deployment as a model for supporting African partners through a limited military footprint rather than a large permanent presence. The planned withdrawal therefore does not mean an end to US-Nigeria security cooperation, as Washington is expected to maintain intelligence and training support. #USNigeria #Nigeria #USMilitary #Security #CounterTerrorism #LakeChad #AFRICOM #Terrorism #NigeriaNews #BreakingNews #Morganable
  • Bangladesh is considering joining the Mecca Pact, a defence agreement involving Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan. The move could reshape Dhaka’s foreign relations, particularly with neighbouring India, as Bangladesh seeks to strengthen its security ties with key Muslim-majority countries. However, Bangladesh has not made a final decision on joining the pact.
  • Catastrophic flash flood has swept through communities along the Nepal-Tibet border, killing dozens of people and leaving hundreds missing. The disaster struck after a massive ice-and-rock avalanche from a glacier collapsed into the Lhende River in Nepal’s Rasuwa district, triggering a powerful surge of water and debris downstream. A magnitude 4.4 earthquake was recorded in the region shortly before the flood, raising questions over whether the tremor contributed to the glacier collapse. However, authorities say investigations are still ongoing and the exact trigger has not been conclusively established. The flood destroyed homes, roads, bridges and other infrastructure, while several hydropower projects were also affected. Rescue operations are underway in both Nepal and Tibet, but damaged roads and difficult mountainous terrain are hampering efforts to reach affected communities. Authorities are continuing to search for missing people and assess the scale of the destruction.

  • Naja’atu Muhammad Denies Sending Delegation to Apologise to Pantami
Hajiya Naja’atu Muhammad has denied reports that she sent a delegation to Gombe State to apologize to former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, over remarks she previously made about him. The reports had suggested that Naja’atu Muhammad had taken steps to reconcile with the former minister by sending representatives to Gombe to convey an apology over comments she had earlier made concerning Pantami. However, she has rejected the claim, describing the report as inaccurate and stressing that she did not authorized any delegation to visit Professor Pantami for such a purpose. The development comes amid continued public interest in the previous remarks attributed to Naja’atu Muhammad and their implications, particularly given Professor Pantami’s prominent position in Nigeria’s political and public affairs. Naja’atu’s denial therefore seeks to clarify the circumstances surrounding the alleged meeting and to distance herself from reports suggesting that she had initiated an apology through intermediaries. She maintained that members of the public should not rely on unverified reports concerning the matter, urging them to distinguish between confirmed information and claims circulating through informal channels. Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, a former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, remains a prominent figure in Nigeria’s public discourse, particularly on issues relating to technology, digital transformation, governance and national development.
The alleged delegation to Gombe had generated attention because of the personalities involved and the suggestion that it represented an attempt to resolve differences arising from Naja’atu Muhammad’s earlier comments. With her latest clarification, however, Naja’atu has disputed the account that she sought to apologize to the former minister through representatives. The controversy underscores the importance of verifying reports involving prominent public figures before they are circulated, particularly where claims of apologies, reconciliations or political engagements are concerned.
  • Tinubu Campaign Team Donates ₦600 Million to JIBWIS National Headquarters for Fortune University Project The campaign team of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has donated ₦600 million to the National Headquarters of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Jos to support the development of Fortune University, a university project being undertaken by the organisation. The donation was announced during the JIBWIS National Meeting held in Jos on Sunday, where prominent political leaders and other senior personalities were in attendance. Among those present at the gathering was Senator Barau I. Jibrin, Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, alongside the governors of Kano, Jigawa and Kebbi states, as well as other senior government officials and dignitaries. The financial support is intended to contribute to the development of the university project at the JIBWIS National Headquarters in Jos, which the organisation has identified as part of its efforts to expand educational opportunities. The presentation formed part of the activities surrounding the national meeting, which brought together JIBWIS leadership, scholars, political figures and other stakeholders. The donation also highlights the growing engagement between political actors and religious organisations in supporting educational and community-development initiatives. Fortune University, being developed under the auspices of JIBWIS, is expected to become an important educational institution in Jos upon completion. #Jibwis #Sheikhjingir #Izala #Jibwisnationalheadquarters

Founder and CEO of Air Peace Indicted in the US, CNN News has reported.

The Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Air Peace, Allen Ifechukwu Onyema,56, has been charged with bank fraud and money laundering.

He was charged for moving more than $20 million from Nigeria through United States bank accounts in a scheme involving false documents based on the purchase of aeroplanes.

The Chief of Administration and Finance of Air Peace, Ejiroghene Eghagha,37, has also been charged with bank fraud and aggravated identity theft in connection with the scheme.

According to U.S. Attorney Byung J. Pak, “Onyema allegedly leveraged his status as a prominent business leader and airline executive while using falsified documents to commit fraud.

We will diligently protect the integrity of our banking system from being corrupted by criminals, even when they disguise themselves in a cloak of international business.”

This sentiment was echoed by Robert J. Murphy, the Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Atlanta Field Division, who said,

“Allen Onyema’s status as a wealthy businessman turned out to be a fraud. He corrupted the U.S. banking system, but his trail of deceit and trickery came to a skidding halt. DEA would like to thank the many law enforcement partners and the subsequent prosecution by the U.S. Attorney’s Office who aided in making this investigation successful.”

“Onyema set up various innocent-sounding multi-million-dollar asset purchases that were nothing more than alleged fronts for his scam,” said Acting Special Agent in Charge Robert Hammer, who oversees HSI operations in Georgia and Alabama.

“I’m proud to be part of a team of law enforcement agencies that come together to identify and attack criminals that attempt to profit from the exploitation of our nation’s financial systems.”

From May 2016, Onyema and Eghagha allegedly used a series of export letters of credit to cause banks to transfer more than $20 million into Atlanta-based bank accounts controlled by Onyema.

The letters of credit were purported to fund Air Peace’s purchase of five separate Boeing 737 passenger planes.

The letters were supported by documents such as purchase agreements, bills of sale, and appraisals proving that Air Peace purchased the aircraft from Springfield Aviation Company LLC, a business registered in Georgia.

However, the supporting documents were fake — Springfield Aviation Company LLC, owned by Onyema and managed by a person with no connection to the aviation business, never owned the aircraft, and the company allegedly drafted the appraisals did not exist.

Several government agencies are investigating this case.

Onyema is a Nigerian citizen and businessman. He’s the founder and Chairman of several organizations that purport to promote peace across Nigeria, including the Foundation for Ethnic Harmony, International Center for Non-Violence and Peace Development, and All-Time Peace Media Communications Limited.

Between 2010 and 2018, he transferred $44.9 million into his Atlanta-based accounts from foreign sources.

It should be noted that the defendants are innocent of the charges until proven otherwise and beyond reasonable doubt.
