Ejiro Amos Tafiri has unveiled REVERIE, her Spring/Summer 2027 collection, at a private showcase in Lagos, bringing a new expression of contemporary African luxury to the city’s fashion scene.
The presentation took place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, alongside Lagos Fashion Week. It formed part of the designer’s 16-year milestone and placed renewal, reinvention and craftsmanship at the centre of the label’s latest creative direction.
The showcase welcomed fashion industry leaders, patrons, invited guests and representatives of the British Council Nigeria. Chef and media personality Hilda Baci also attended the event, which offered guests an opportunity to experience the collection in an intimate setting.
REVERIE explores renewal and reinvention through expressive silhouettes, detailed craftsmanship and a carefully refined colour palette. Rather than treating fashion only as clothing, the collection presents design as a way to communicate ideas, identity and changing perspectives.
The name REVERIE suggests a state of daydreaming or deep reflection. That idea gives the collection a creative starting point, inviting viewers to consider how imagination can shape the way designers interpret style. It also connects the collection to the wider conversation about how African fashion continues to evolve.
A NEW CHAPTER IN CONTEMPORARY AFRICAN LUXURY
Through REVERIE, Tafiri continues to develop a design language that draws from African influences while engaging with contemporary fashion. The collection brings together visual expression and careful construction, reflecting the house’s interest in creating pieces that carry a clear identity.
Its expressive silhouettes provide room for movement and individuality, while the detailed workmanship highlights the attention given to each design. The colour palette also contributes to the collection’s overall mood, helping to connect its different elements into one creative statement.
The fashion house has built its reputation around drapery, fluid tailoring and the thoughtful use of indigenous textiles. These elements have helped distinguish its work within Nigeria’s luxury fashion market. They also show how local materials and techniques can take their place in modern design without losing their cultural value.
Tafiri, often described as Nigeria’s “Drape Queen”, founded the fashion house in Lagos in 2010. Over the past 16 years, she has developed a recognisable approach to womenswear that places fabric, shape and craftsmanship at the heart of the design process.
The brand’s work has also reached audiences beyond Nigeria. It has presented collections at Paris Fashion Week and Shanghai Fashion Week, giving the label opportunities to engage with international fashion audiences. Those appearances form part of a wider effort to position African design within global conversations about luxury and creativity.
LINKING FASHION WITH INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT
The Lagos collection unveiling followed the third edition of the brand’s Fashioning a Legacy: Leaving a Mark in Time conference. The event took place on Saturday, October 24, at the British Council in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The conference brought together designers, stylists, retail professionals and emerging creatives. Participants discussed how people in the fashion sector can build sustainable careers and make lasting contributions to the industry.
The conference and collection presentation served different purposes, but both connected to the fashion house’s wider work.
While REVERIE placed design and craftsmanship in the spotlight, Fashioning a Legacy focused on knowledge, professional growth and the people who help the sector develop.
This combination reflects an understanding that a strong fashion industry needs more than creative talent. It also requires business knowledge, skilled workers, access to opportunities and platforms where emerging professionals can learn from established voices.
Through the Ejiro Amos Tafiri Foundation, the fashion house supports emerging creatives through mentorship and capacity-building initiatives. Such efforts can help young people strengthen their skills and better understand the demands of working in the creative sector.
ABUJA SHOWCASE TO FOLLOW
The Lagos presentation is part of a series of activities marking the fashion house’s 16th anniversary. The brand is also preparing an exclusive showcase in Abuja later in November 2026, according to its announcement.
The planned event is expected to welcome members of the diplomatic community, government officials, fashion patrons and invited guests. It will give the label another opportunity to present its work and connect with audiences in the Federal Capital Territory.
The Abuja event also extends the brand’s anniversary programme beyond Lagos. By taking the collection to another major Nigerian city, the fashion house can engage a wider group of supporters and strengthen its presence within the country’s fashion market.
However, the Lagos unveiling remains the central presentation of REVERIE so far. Its timing alongside Lagos Fashion Week placed the collection within a busy period for Nigerian fashion, when designers, buyers, media professionals and other industry participants gather to follow new ideas and creative directions.
A PLATFORM FOR AFRICAN DESIGN
The launch adds to the visibility of Nigerian designers who are developing distinctive identities in the luxury market. Their work draws attention to the range of approaches shaping contemporary African fashion, from the use of indigenous textiles to new interpretations of tailoring and silhouette.
For Tafiri, REVERIE continues a journey built around craftsmanship and a clear design point of view.
The collection’s focus on renewal also offers a fitting theme for a brand marking 16 years in an industry that constantly responds to changing tastes, technologies and consumer expectations.
The fashion house’s combination of runway presentations, industry conversations and mentorship initiatives points to an approach that reaches beyond seasonal clothing.
It links the public presentation of fashion with the development of skills and relationships that can support the sector over time.
As the brand prepares for its next chapter, REVERIE presents a statement about imagination, renewal and African craftsmanship.
Its Lagos unveiling has introduced the Spring/Summer 2027 collection to invited audiences, while the forthcoming Abuja showcase will extend that presentation.
The collection therefore marks both a seasonal release and a milestone in the fashion house’s development.
Through expressive design, fluid tailoring and a continued interest in indigenous textiles, Ejiro Amos Tafiri is reinforcing its place in Nigeria’s contemporary luxury fashion landscape.
