Yesterday, Thursday, 12th June, 2025, was thrown into mourning as an Air India flight, AI171, conveying 242 passengers crashed after taking off.

The plane crashed just 30 seconds after taking off from Ahmedabad’s Sardar VallabhBhai Patel International Airport while heading to London, in the United Kingdom.

241 fatalities, with only one survivor, were recorded after the flight as a thorough investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the crash.

What Was The Cause of India Flight Which Crashed In 30 Seconds?

Preliminary Investigators in India have started putting-in efforts to ascertain the cause of the plane crash that claimed 241, out of 242, passengers onboard.

With speculations brewing over the cause of the devastating crash, air safety experts will be assisted by a team from the United Kingdom Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) to identify what truly happened before the disaster on flight AI 171 took place.

The investigators will draft evidence─which includes radar, CCTV and most importantly the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and flight data recorder (FDR)─to identify what led to the accident, the first fatal one involving the Boeing 787.

The Plane Black Board Is Recovered

It has been reported that the black board has been recovered from the crash site of the Air India plane which crashed rapidly and violently, claiming more than 240 lives.

Families of 7 Victims Recover Their Bodies

The minimum of seven bodies have been identified after autopsy and handed to their families, as confirmed in a local police report, but the identities and personalities of these victims are yet to be made public.

Words of Panicked Pilot Before The Crash

Before the crash, the pilot of the London-bound Air India aircraft raised an emergency alarm and said the plane was “losing power” in some seconds the plane left Ahmedabad Airport.

The plane was said to be airborne for 11 seconds when Captain Sumeet Sabharwal told the ground: “Mayday … no thrust, losing power, unable to lift.”

According to trusted source, it is reported that Captain Sabharwal, before the flight, had 8,200 hours of flying experience.

Minimum of 8 People Killed On Ground In The Plane Crash

Reportedly, at least 8 people, who did not happen to be passengers on the London-bound Air India flight have also been reported to have died, as reported by health officials.

The plane hit a medical college hostel in the metropolitan of Ahmedabad just some seconds in the air, claiming all lives, but one, in the process.

Four of eight killed on ground were reportedly medical students who resided in one of the buildings on where the plane crashed.

Crash Escapee Reveals He Escaped Through Shattered Emergency Exit

The only survivor of the Air India plane crash, that took more than 240 lives, said he walked out of a shattered emergency exit after the plane hit a medical college hostel in the metropolitan of Ahmedabad.

The sole escapee, Ramesh Viswash kumar, whom the police said he occupied the 11A seat near the emergency exit and managed to escape through the shattered exit, was videoed after yesterday’s crash, limping ‘round the street in a bloodied T-shirt with bruises on his face.

Air India Plane Crash Update: Boeing 787 Fleet To Be Suspended

It quickly became a viral streaming on social media platforms that British National of Indian origin viewed on almost all of India’s news channels after the Boeing 787-8 Bream liner crashed a few moments after take-off and covered with a ball of fire.

This Crash Was Worst In A Decade

“I don’t believe how I survived. For some time, I thought I was also going to die,” 40-year-old Vishwash Kumar told Indian state broadcaster DD News from his hospital bed.

“But when I opened my eyes, I realised I was alive and I tried to unbuckle myself from the seat and escape from where I could.

“It was in front of my eyes that the air hostess and others (died)”.

Mr. Viswashkumar stated that the aircraft appear static in midair for a few seconds just a moment after taking off, and the green and white cabin lights were turned on.

He said he felt the plane engine force increased, but then the plan “crashed with speed into the hostel.” But the medics told local media the Mr. Viswashkumar did not sustain any serious injury.

“The side of the plane I was in landed on the ground, and I could see that there was space outside the aircraft, so when my door broke, I tried to escape through it and I did,” Mr. Viswashkumar said.

“The opposite side of the aircraft was blocked by the building wall so nobody could have come out of there.”

Air India Flight To London Gatwick Called-Off

Following the Ahmedabad disaster, the first Air India departure to London Gatwick has been called-off.

The flight AI 145, from Mopa Airport in India’s western state of Goa, was scheduled to take-off at 1.05pm IST, expected to arrive 10 hours after take-off at Sussex Airport.

It was expected to operate on a Boeing 787-8 “Dreamliner”, similar to the kind as the crash plane.

Information obtained from the flight-tracking website, Flightradar24, reveals that the aircraft made a trip earlier on Friday morning from Delhi to Goa as expected, but various media outlets have not been able to ascertain the honesty in this report.

First British Victim Of The Crash Named

In the report of Downing Street, the public should set for a significant loss of British lives following Air India crash into a building in India, claiming 241 lives of passengers onboard with a lone survivor.

A British family of three, who lost their lives in the Gatwick-bound flight, have been identified by the Gloucester Muslims Community as Akeel Nanabawa, his wife Hannah Vorajee and their four-year-old daughter, Sara.

Sara was a “ray of sunshine” who “lit up the classroom”, said Abdullah Samad, head teacher of her primary school.

May the dead rest in peace, and their surviving relatives be granted the fortitude to bear their losses. Amen.
