• Gen. Yakubu Gowon Says Two Christian Friends in Plateau Betrayed Him in New Memoir

Former Nigerian Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd.), has revealed that two of his Christian friends from Plateau State betrayed him, saying the experience remains one of the painful memories of his life.

Gowon made the revelation in his newly launched memoir, My Life of Duty, unveiled in Abuja during a ceremony attended by prominent national figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, former First Lady Aisha Buhari, former Heads of State, senior military officers, diplomats, and other distinguished guests.

In the book, the former Head of State recalled that two of his Christian friends in Plateau State abandoned and betrayed him, noting that the incident left a lasting emotional impact.

According to Gowon, despite the passage of time, he still feels the pain of what he described as their betrayal.

The elder statesman explained that one of the major reasons for writing My Life of Duty was to correct what he described as longstanding misconceptions and inaccurate interpretations about his life, his leadership, and the policies of his administration.

He said the memoir offers his personal account of key events in Nigeria

  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

Folks, kindly permit me to present  6 legit online businesses you can start with little resources in our contemporary times.

We have made an effort to select business opportunities that are practicable in, and applicable to Africa.

The rate at which unemployment has eaten into Africa has become so damaging and threatening. Had the world including Africa not successfully shifted into the digital age, poverty would have hit down the four walls of the African Continent. African countries would have become derelict and riddled with human symbols of poverty.

All thanks to the immediate shift in age and standard of economy.

It is so disheartening that despite the inarguably shift to the “skill economy” that the world has experienced, and the vast opening of a series of opportunities to anybody ready and willing to acquire skills quickly and implement them effectively to secure a better life, Africans are still lagging in the appropriation of these opportunities.

Thanks to poor technological infrastructure, archaic educational curriculum,  unfavourable business environment, weak judicial oversight, weak political leadership as well as poor political will, among others.

Unfortunately, there are lots of African Youths who cannot access technological solutions to their socio-economic problems.

They still go about life with heads full of old ideas and archaic business orientation despite possessing smartphones in their hands that could link them to the global village and facilitate positivity in their lives.

Meanwhile, there are many African youths, students and graduates who currently are searching for Ponzi schemes that will help them financially without them getting to work.

Likewise, it is obvious during this period that there are great numbers of people who spend their internet connection on things that would not add value to their finances.

It is high time we broke out of the chain of ignorance to the light of legitimate businesses.

Many young Africans are still broke today because they are scared and find it hard to believe that fortune could be made online or that wealth could be made at any age of life.

They also fail to realise that the requirement for making money or getting a high-paid job could be boiled down to “High-value skills, Internet Connection, lots determination and smartphone or laptop, among others.

Maybe, the right question that must be directed to anybody that is still passive about making the best of this digital revolution is:

Have you ever imagined yourself sitting in the comfort of your room, maybe on your bed as you rake in financial value closer to yourself with digital value?

Have you ever imagined yourself running a business campaign, designing web and graphics right from inside your room, and your account balance experiencing a steady increase with time?

These are snippets into what the digital world has in packages, although these packages are untouchable unless one is digitally smart with digital skills.

The world has gone digital and it is no more news that to be among those who will make most of this age one must build a business around digital skills, and be willing to transact digital value with financial value.

Alibaba.com, 1688.com and shopify.com are among the platform for drop shipping.

  • Freelancing

According to Bharath Sivakumar, Freelancing is a contract-based profession where instead of being recruited by an organization, the person uses his skills and experience to provide services to several clients.

In simple terms, freelancing is when you use your skills, education, and experience to work with multiple clients and take on various assignments without committing to a single employer. The number of assignments or tasks that you can take just boils down to your ability to deliver on them as asked from them.

Freelancing usually involves jobs (called gigs) that allow you to work-from-home situations. But don’t associate freelancing with the same as having a work-from-home job. All you need here is high-value digital skills like Graphics designing, Copywriting, Content Creation, Ghostwriting, etc
