• Tinubu Urges Plateau State Governor to Include Hausa/Fulani in his Cabinet, and also Recognize Them as Indigenes

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on political leaders in Plateau State to embrace inclusive governance by appointing members of the Hausa/Fulani community to key positions in the state government and recognizing them as indigenes of the state.

The President made the remarks during a high-level dialogue meeting with political, traditional, and religious leaders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Addressing participants at the meeting, Tinubu stressed that sustainable peace and development in Plateau State require fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all communities.

  • Goldman Sachs Lowers 2027 Brent Oil Price Forecast Over Supply Growth, Demand Risks

Goldman Sachs has reduced its forecast for Brent crude oil prices in 2027, citing expectations of increased global oil supply and growing concerns over weaker demand.

The investment bank said rising production from major oil-producing countries, coupled with uncertainties surrounding global economic growth, could place downward pressure on oil prices in the coming years.

Analysts noted that slower economic activity in key markets and the increasing adoption of alternative energy sources may affect long-term demand for crude oil.

The revised outlook comes as energy markets continue to monitor geopolitical developments, production policies by major exporters, and changing consumption patterns worldwide.

A tribute to late President Muhammadu Buhari is a fitting acknowledgement of his tireless effort to transform Nigeria’s economy and also improve the life of its citizens.

Today, with a heart heavy and eyes brimming, I mourn the departure of President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR. Nigeria has lost not just a former leader, but a towering symbol of sacrifice, service, and stubborn hope.

A man who carried the weight of a nation’s trust across decades; both in fatigues and in civilian attire, has finally answered the final call of his Creator.  He was a leader who stood tall in both war and peace.

On the battlefield, he fought valiantly to keep the country united, and in governance, he bore the burdens of leadership with a stoic calm.

His journey was not perfect, no human journey is, but it was filled with moments of deep courage, unflinching loyalty to Nigeria, and a tireless pursuit of what he believed to be right.

From the cold barracks of his military days to the hot seat of Aso Rock, Muhammadu Buhari gave of himself wholly.

As a military ruler, he was known for his discipline and no-nonsense approach. As a democratically elected president decades later, he returned with greater reflection, carrying with him the scars and wisdom of time.

His comeback in 2015 was not a coincidence; it was a testimony to resilience. It was history calling again on a man it once buried, to rise and serve once more.

Few men have walked the corridors of Nigerian public life with the kind of scrutiny that followed him. Every move he made was examined, every silence questioned. Yet, he remained unshaken in his convictions.

He was taciturn, yes, but behind that reserved nature was a deeply thoughtful and principled man. He listened. He observed. He carried burdens without making a show of them.

Though in private moments, he could smile, even laugh with a dry wit that often surprised those around him. There was a quiet charm about him, not loud, not flashy but sincere and unpretentious.

That simplicity connected him with everyday people, they called him “Mai Gaskiya”; the Honest One, because in a political environment saturated with deception, his name stood out like a lone tree in a dry desert.

He was not perfect, but he was honest. That, in itself, made him extraordinary.  In a nation where many in power have enriched themselves shamelessly, where public office often seems to be a license for looting, Buhari remained a rare breed.

He was not known for mansions, foreign accounts, or lavish lifestyles. Even his critics, loud and relentless, admitted one thing: Buhari was not a thief. And that, perhaps, is one of the most powerful legacies he leaves behind.

In a system where the rot runs deep, he proved that you can rise to the top, lead for decades, and still leave with clean hands.

He was not without flaws, and history will judge him fairly for both his achievements and his missteps, but no whisper of corruption has ever credibly stuck to his name.

That alone sets him apart from nearly all who sat in the same chair he once occupied. That’s something to hold onto. Something for future leaders to emulate. Something that should inspire a generation weary of betrayal and broken promises.

President Buhari also left behind legacies in the areas of infrastructure, anti-corruption policy, and national security. Under his leadership, Nigeria saw the expansion of railways after decades of stagnation. Roads and bridges were rehabilitated across regions.

There was a renewed push for agricultural development aimed at restoring self-sufficiency and reducing our dependence on foreign imports.

He launched and maintained various social intervention programs targeting the most vulnerable, efforts that, even if not perfect, demonstrated a concern for the welfare of ordinary citizens.

Though insecurity remained a challenge that plagued not just his government but several before and after, he did not shy away from the fight.

He inherited a nation battling Boko Haram, and under his watch, territories once seized by terror were reclaimed.

He strengthened regional cooperation and invested in military restructuring, leaving behind an improved and more coordinated response system to national threats.

Still, perhaps the most enduring legacy of Muhammadu Buhari is the idea of leadership anchored in modesty, service, and restraint.

In a country where the pursuit of power often leads to moral collapse, he remained a paradox, imperfect, yet uncorrupted; firm, yet unassuming. His values were never up for sale.

Today, we remember not just a president, but a principle. Not just a man, but a moral. In Buhari, we saw a leader who didn’t bend the rules for personal gain.

He did not chase the wealth many others do, he remained largely distant from the glit
