The Chairman of Unilever, Marijn Dekkers steps down from his role as the chairman of the global conglomerate. He stepped down on Wednesday, the 13th of November, 2019 abruptly exactly one year after scrapping the plan to move the headquarters of the conglomerate to the Netherlands.

The Spokesperson for the Conglomerate issued a statement that the Chairman would be standing down three years after taking the Chair of the Board but will remain as a member of the Board of Directors.
The Spokesperson argued that his departure has nothing to do with the Headquarters –U-Turn. However, his retirement follows the departure of the veteran Chief Executive, Paul Polman, earlier in the year.
He is leaving to focus on the Investment Firm – Novalis Life Sciences, which he founded.
