On Thursday, 19th June, 2025, a lawsuit of sex-trafficking, fraud, among others was filed in New York against Joseph “Fat Joe” Cartagena by a former employee.
The 157-page lawsuit was filed on 19th June, 2025, in the Southern District of New York by attorney Tyrone Blackburn on behalf of “T. A” Dixon, who claimed that he was an employee of Cartagena for more than 15 years─2005 to 2020─as a “hype man,” “lyricist, background vocalist, security team member, and a creative collaborator,” as the suit reads.

According to the lawsuit, Dixon also accuses Cartagena and his cohorts of “systematically engaging in coercive labour exploration, financial fraud, sexual manipulation, violent intimidation and psychological coercion.”
Dixon also states that he “contributed lyrics, vocals, and creative direction” to several of Cartagena’s songs, including “Congratulations” and “Ice Cream,” “without recognition or fair compensation.”
Stressing financial allegations, Dixon claims the Hip Hop icon allegedly coerced him “into humiliating situations, including sex acts performed under duress and surveillance” and also allegedly threatened him with abandonment in foreign countries, job loss or physical injury if he failed to concur, as per the lawsuit.
The lawsuit also states that Cartagena and his accomplices allegedly trafficked minors and psychologically blended them, as Dixon claimed he “personally witnessed” Cartagena allegedly “engage in sexual relations with children who were fifteen and sixteen years old.”
Considering the magnitude of the allegation brought fore against Fat Joe, a prompt warning was placed at the top of the document, revealing it comprises “highly graphic information of a sexual nature, including sexual assault.”

Dixon is reportedly seeking more than $2 million for “yet-to-be-paid performance wages” as well as additional damages caused.
Cartagena’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, when contacted, said “Fat Joe” filed a suit against Dixon and attorney Blackburn recently in April, alleging “extortion, slander, among others.
He stated that Dixon’s case against his client was “a blatant act of retaliation.”
“The lawsuit filed by Tyrone Blackburn and Terrance Dixon is a blatant act of retaliation─a desperate attempt to deflect attention from the civil suit we filed first, which exposed their coordinated scheme to extort Mr. Cartagena through lies, threats, and manufactured allegations,” Tacopina said.
Dixon and Blackburn are yet to submit a response to the first lawsuit but are both given until 23rd to do so, and a hearing for the lawsuit is scheduled to begin on 1st August, 2025.

Reacting to Dixon’s claim, Cartagena’s attorney Joe Tacopina, in his memoir, described Dixon as a “disgruntled “former employee” and also stated that Blackburn has “a pattern of abusing” the judicial system.

“We didn’t just sue a disgruntled former employee trying to revive a false claim from 15 years ago — we sued the lawyer behind it all,” Tacopina continued.
“Tyrone Blackburn has a well-documented pattern of abusing the courts to harass defendants and generate media attention.”
“Mr. Cartagena will not be intimidated,” he added. “We have taken legal action to expose this fraudulent campaign and hold everyone involved accountable.”
In Reaction to Tacopina’s Claims, Blackburn Hits Back
“Joe [Tacopina] is desperate. He thought only of himself when he erroneously advised his client to take this course,” Blackburn said in part.
“Fat Joe knows what he has done. My client was with him for nearly 20 years. My client does not do drugs, nor does he drink alcohol, he continued.
“His memory is perfect, and he has receipts. We have three additional pages of predicated acts, which detail trafficking of another sort. Joe [Tacopina] should better advise his client to do the smart thing.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Trial Live: No Hearing On Tuesday
There will be no hearing and witnessing tomorrow in the trial of music mogul Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs as federal prosecutors said today that the case is set to put to rest on Tuesday when agent Joseph Cerciello of Homeland Security Investigation finishes testifying.
The defence stated that it looks to rest from court without inviting any witness, but would only submit some evidence against the defendant.
Considering reconsidered court schedule, the judge will hold a charging conference on Wednesday, rounding-up on Thursday.

Joseph Cerciello of Homeland Security Investigations, the final witness for the prosecution, approached the jury with several travel records, hotel invoices and records of E-transaction that prosecutors think might convince the jury that Combs and his cohorts truly trafficked his ex-girlfriend, who appeared recently before the jurors to testify against Diddy.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ former assistant Brendan Paul told the court that he purchased and conveyed drugs for Combs, Paul was apprehended in March 2024 in possession of cocaine while on a private flight with Combs.
“Was the cocaine yours, Mr. Paul?” prosecutor Christy Slavikn asked.
“No,” Paul testified in response.
“Whose cocaine was it?” Slavik followed up.
“Mr. Combs,” Paul testified.
The charges against Paul were dropped last year following the completion of his pre-trial intervention programme.
The lawsuit brought the Combs reads that Combs ran a criminal enterprise, which committed drug offences, as claimed by federal prosecutors.
Combs has admitted to using illegal drugs but refuted claims that he ran a criminal enterprise. However, he pleads not guilty to all charges brought against him by the government.
Paul revealed to the jury that Combs attempted that his assistants should “move like SEAL Team Six” and expect to welcome his needs.

In his testimony, he said it was a crucial thing for Combs to buy a pound of marijuana every two months and purchase a powdery mix of ketamine and molly, popularly known as tusi, that was “dyed pink for the aesthetic.”
Paul also revealed that Combs fashioned hotel rooms for “freak-off” sexual encounters, which he described as “wild king nights,” stockpiling items like lubricants and baby oil.
The jury were shown the images of the items well-arranged in Combs’ Los Angeles homes. While cross-examining, Paul said he never noticed “Jane” being reluctant or observant about taking part in what she described as “hotel night” sexual encounters.
