• Gen. Yakubu Gowon Says Two Christian Friends in Plateau Betrayed Him in New Memoir

Former Nigerian Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd.), has revealed that two of his Christian friends from Plateau State betrayed him, saying the experience remains one of the painful memories of his life.

Gowon made the revelation in his newly launched memoir, My Life of Duty, unveiled in Abuja during a ceremony attended by prominent national figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, former First Lady Aisha Buhari, former Heads of State, senior military officers, diplomats, and other distinguished guests.

In the book, the former Head of State recalled that two of his Christian friends in Plateau State abandoned and betrayed him, noting that the incident left a lasting emotional impact.

According to Gowon, despite the passage of time, he still feels the pain of what he described as their betrayal.

The elder statesman explained that one of the major reasons for writing My Life of Duty was to correct what he described as longstanding misconceptions and inaccurate interpretations about his life, his leadership, and the policies of his administration.

He said the memoir offers his personal account of key events in Nigeria

  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

Sean ‘Diddy’ Trial: Day 24 recap as ex-girlfriend reveals ‘Diddy’ called himself Michael Jordan of sex parties

Embattled Hip Hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs witnessed 24th day of his sex-trafficking and racketeering trial yesterday, 10th June, 2025.

Following several days on stands, Combs’ ex-girlfriend “Jane” presented before defense lawyers and revealed that the Hip Hop icon positioned himself as the Michael Jordan of sex parties.

This disclosure was made by Jane, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, in another day on stands, where she accused the music mogul of forcing her to participate in ignoble sex with male whores for Combs’ immoral gratification.

Jane, testifying under pseudonym, has spent four days moving around federal jury in Manhattan through a life fully financed by Combs and aimed at his sexual urge.

She revealed that she spent so much time taking part in sexual encounters which prompted Combs to compare her, himself and other male accomplice with renowned sportsmen.

The invited male accomplice was compared with “Shaquille O’Neal.” She said herself was said to be “Kobe Bryant,” while Combs called himself “Michael Jordan,” Jane testified.

The comparisons ended up the 24th day of the Hip Hop mogul’s sex-trafficking and racketeering trial, as the defence lawyers attempted to cast doubts on Jane’s ‘force claim’

Jane has appeared to be an important part of the authorities’ case against the rap icon, who has been in detention since September, 2024.

The prosecutors have claimed that Combs used his wealth and influence to lure the victims, like Jane, into his degrading act, and then used his money and thuggery to shut their mouth in order to protect his reputation.

Since the start of the trial, Combs has pleaded not guilty and claimed he had never forced anyone into unsolicited sex.

After three days of narrating the stories of the trauma she had to endure amid her relationship with Combs, she was opposed and challenged by Comb’s defence counsels during a full court sessions on Tuesday.

They constantly made efforts to cite Jane’s obviously loving messages she sent to Combs and her exploded willingness to take part in his sexual fantasies.

“I wish you were here. We can play our videos on TV and lock each other in the room all day,” Jane texted Combs. “I never c— so hard like that in my life.”

The cross examination took on a quicker twist as defence counsel Teny Geragos claimed that the lavish gifts defeats Jane’s claim of trauma and coercion.

“No, I only got trauma,” Jane hit back at Geragos when asked about Combs’ getting another girlfriend a Chanel handbag.

When Geragos quizzed about another expensive handbag, Bottega Veneta, Jane exploded: “I’m sure you have one,”

“How much do Bottega bags run?” Geragos asked Jane. Jane snapped: “How much does my body cost?”

Witnessing and testimony are scheduled to resume on Wednesday afternoon, 11th June, 2025, with more questioning by Comb’s lawyers. Defence counsels told the judge in charge of the case that they might conclude their questions for Jane on Thursday.

Jane revealed that she overly became envious of Combs for spending more quality times with other ladies out there. She argued that she believed Combs was “polygamous.”

“What was hard for me was the imbalance in treatment,” Jane said. “I didn’t sign up to date a man who was in a public relationship.”

The also disclosed that she became frustrated that the most of her time spent with Combs was dictated by extended sexual encounters with other men whom Combs observed, Jane then said that she sought to understand why Combs was having pleasure in her have sex with other men.

She said to the jury: “I was trying to deep-dive on all the reasons why they drew such pleasure watching their woman with other men.”

She revealed to the jury that she discovered the word “cuck”, which she described as a “man who is in a relationship and is turned on by watching a woman have sex with another man.”

Geragos asked, “What did that word mean to you?”

Jane answered, “I was just like this is spot on.”

The testimonies about Combs’ sexual urge comes as defence counsels seek to pinpoint what they claim as Jane’s desire to take part in sex encounter with Combs by discovering what she enjoyed sexually, potentially undercutting the prosecution’s claim that she was forced into drug-enhanced activities she described as “hotel nights.”

Jane also testified that she enjoyed some parts of the orgies, which she said satisfied Combs’ sexual cravings.

“I loved when we would make love and said he wanted me,” Jane said.

“He would say things like he never wanted me to leave and so many nice, loving things.”

Jane Excludes Combs’ Staff From Alleged Sex Trafficking

Combs’ defence counsel Geragos spiced her cross evaluation with questions about roles played by Combs’ staff during their turbulent three-year relationship, obviously attempting to exclude the rap icon’s assistant and guards from the alleged illicit acts at the middle of the prosecution’s trial.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Trial: Day 24 Recap

“It was important that none of his employees knew about the entertainers from these nights?” Geragos asked about the male escorts Combs hired for “hotel nights.”

“Right,” Jane said, emphasizing how Combs began hosting the sex parties in private residences instead of hotel rooms to ensure the events would be secretive.

Despite testimony against Combs’ chief of staff Kristina Khorram, whom she alleged that acted as Combs’ “right brain” and was overly apprised of Combs’ ignoble activities, Jane said the Combs attempted to keep exclude her from the process for booking and paying escorts for the sexual romps.

“Did [Khorram] have any knowledge that escorts were joining the hotels?” Geragos asked.

“I don’t think so,” Jane answered.

By excluding Combs’ staff from the rap icon’s alleged atrocities, the might assist defence counsels as they attempt to cast doubt on the witness’ claim that Combs used his business empire to aid his atrocities.

Convicting Combs on racketeering conspiracy, the jurors would need to know that Combs depend on others, like his guards or assistants, to commit at least minimum of two of the alleged crimes.
