• Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo Alleges Boko Haram Infiltrated Nigerian Military, Links Claim to U.S. Troop Withdrawal

JOS, Nigeria — The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo, has alleged that members of the Boko Haram insurgent group have occupied strategic positions within the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The cleric made the remarks in a video circulated on his social media page, where he discussed the security situation in Nigeria and the recurring violence in parts of the country.

According to Rev. Dachamo, the alleged infiltration of the military was the reason United States military personnel were withdrawn from Nigeria after, he claimed, they received security reports from troops deployed to assess the security situation.

He further alleged that the U.S. personnel had been sent in connection with concerns over what he described as the killing of Christian communities in parts of the country.

Rev. Dachamo did not provide evidence to substantiate his claims during the video.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the United States Government had not publicly confirmed Rev. Dachamo

Nigel Farage’s resignation as MP for Clacton has turned a parliamentary standards controversy into a wider test of political money, democratic accountability and migration politics. • Teaching Al-Musannaf Requires Rare Scholarly Expertise Beyond the Reach of Many Nigerian Scholars

Renowned Islamic scholar and founder of Darul Hadith Salafiyya, Zaria, Sheikh Muhammad Auwal Adam (Albani Zaria), has stated that teaching Kitabul Al-Musannaf requires an exceptional level of scholarly competence that, according to him, many Nigerian Islamic scholars do not possess.

The late cleric made the remarks during one of his Sahih al-Bukhari lectures in 2013, while discussing contemporary religious issues and the qualifications required to teach classical Islamic texts.

According to Sheikh Albani, Al-Musannaf is among the most comprehensive works in Islamic scholarship and demands mastery of several disciplines before a scholar can competently teach its contents.

"Teaching Kitabul Al-Musannaf requires rare scholarly expertise beyond what many Nigerian scholars possess," he said.

He explained that a scholar seeking to teach the book must possess extensive knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), Hadith sciences (Mustalah al-Hadith), Islamic history (Tarikh), principles of narration, and other related Islamic sciences.

Albani argued that beyond academic qualifications, teaching the text requires years of specialization, extensive research, and a deep understanding of the differences among classical scholars and schools of thought.

According to him, many scholars lack the time, specialization, and depth of knowledge necessary to undertake such a demanding scholarly responsibility.

The respected scholar maintained that teaching advanced Islamic texts without the required expertise could lead to misunderstanding, inaccurate interpretations, and confusion among students of knowledge.

KANO-

The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting public health and curbing the circulation of substandard drugs.

This follows the seizure of counterfeit medicines worth over N200 million in the state.
The seizure was carried out during a raid by the Kano State Committee on Motor Parks and Other Public Places on Sunday.

The  development was revealed in a statement issued to newsmen on Sunday,by the Director, Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, Balarabe Abdullahi-Kiru.

According to the statement, the drugs confiscated during the operation lacked approval from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control.

It added that the operation was jointly conducted by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigeria Immigration Service.

The statement noted that the raid was led by the committee’s Chairman, Maj. Adamu Abubakar-Usman (Rtd), following intelligence reports and the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure only safe, approved medicines were sold to the public.

Speaking during the operation, Abubakar-Usman disclosed that the fake drugs were found in an abandoned building where they were stored under extreme heat and unhygienic conditions.

“These drugs lacked NAFDAC certification and therefore pose a serious danger to public health, especially to women and children” he said

“Storing drugs under excessive heat and poor sanitary conditions can compromise their efficacy and cause serious harm to consumers, particularly when they are not approved by the relevant authorities,” he added.

He said the committee would continue to collaborate with security and health agencies to combat the trafficking of fake drugs and ensure that offenders are prosecuted.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Policy and Special Development, Dr Danyaro Ali-Yakasai, urged the public to verify the authenticity of medicines before purchase and to report suspected sellers of fake or substandard drugs.

He reiterated the state government’s resolve not to tolerate activities capable of endangering citizens’ lives.

The Assistant Commander of Narcotics, NDLEA Kano Command, Ya’u Malam-Yakubu,
said the confiscated items included 55 cartons of Super Sexy, 144 cartons of Bold Brown/Body Bliss, 70 cartons of Lion King/Hygra, and three sacks of empty packs.

NDLEA Raid Kano Drug Dens
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Kano Strategic Command, has raided various drug dens, arrested no fewer than 52 suspects, and seized assorted illicit substances within two days in Kano.

“The Public Relations Officer of the strategic command, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics Sadiq Maigatari, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Wednesday.

The NDLEA Kano State Strategic Command launches ‘Operation Sharar Mafaka’; raids multiple drug dens, arrests 52 suspects, and seizes assorted illicit substances in two days,” the statement said.

According to the statement, the command, under the leadership of CN D.Y. Lawal, has launched “Operation Sharar Mafaka,” a sustained campaign to dislodge and occupy notorious drug joints across the Kano metropolis.

It added that the operation, which began on April 27, 2026, targeted more than 20 known drug locations and resulted in significant arrests and seizures over the course of two days.

“At the launch on April 27, operatives raided the infamous Filin Idi drug dens, Tashar Rami, Fagge, Abattoir, and Farm Centre, arresting 15 suspects and seizing quantities of illicit substances and paraphernalia” it said

Acting on the operation’s momentum, officers conducted further raids on the morning of April 28 at Hotoro Flyover, Mariri Park, Ramin Jirga Tishama, Yankaba Park, and Audu Bako Secretariat, arresting an additional 16 suspects, including three female suspects, and recovering assorted illicit drugs and locally made weapons.

“On the evening of April 28, additional operations in Kwanar Ungogo, Titin Jajira, Tudun Bojuwa, and parts of Sabon Gari yielded 21 more arrests, including one female suspect, and the seizure of various illicit substances and evidentiary items,” the statement said.

It said that, in total, 52 suspects were arrested during the raids, including four females, and assorted drugs and paraphernalia were recovered and secured.

Speaking on the operation, CN D.Y. Lawal described the strategy as “dislodge and occupy”: “We will dislodge criminal joints, arrest suspects, seize exhibits, and occupy premises until normalcy is restored.”

He said the operation will continue under “Operation Sharar Mafaka” and called on the general public to join the command in the fight until all the streets in Kano are safe.

The Operation Sharar Mafaka is part of the Kano Command’s sustained effort to dismantle drug distribution points and restore safety to communities.

The action is fully aligned with the NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd.), agenda of a drug-free society.

The  NDLEA Kano Strategic Command has earlier reiterated its commitment to ongoing enforcement, community engagement, and partnership with citizens to eliminate illicit drug activity.

Governorship Aspirant Vow To Fight Substance Abuse In Kano
A governorship candidate under  the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party Muhammad Bello Dalha, has outlined an ambitious social and economic recovery agenda for Kano State, with strong emphasis on youth empowerment, grassroots security, civil service welfare and the fight against drug abuse and street violence.

Dalha, while submitting his governorship nomination form in Abuja on Tuesday, said the worsening menace of illicit drug consumption and “fadan daba” had become a dangerous social crisis threatening the future of many young people and the stability of communities across the state.

According to him, the situation requires collective action involving families, traditional institutions, religious leaders and security agencies.

“As a society, we must also confront the growing problem of illicit drug abuse and fadan daba. These challenges are destroying lives, families, and communities” he said

We will work together with parents, religious scholars, traditional rulers, community leaders, and security agencies to provide guidance, rehabilitation, awareness, and meaningful opportunities for our young people,” he added
