• Gen. Yakubu Gowon Says Two Christian Friends in Plateau Betrayed Him in New Memoir

Former Nigerian Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd.), has revealed that two of his Christian friends from Plateau State betrayed him, saying the experience remains one of the painful memories of his life.

Gowon made the revelation in his newly launched memoir, My Life of Duty, unveiled in Abuja during a ceremony attended by prominent national figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, former First Lady Aisha Buhari, former Heads of State, senior military officers, diplomats, and other distinguished guests.

In the book, the former Head of State recalled that two of his Christian friends in Plateau State abandoned and betrayed him, noting that the incident left a lasting emotional impact.

According to Gowon, despite the passage of time, he still feels the pain of what he described as their betrayal.

The elder statesman explained that one of the major reasons for writing My Life of Duty was to correct what he described as longstanding misconceptions and inaccurate interpretations about his life, his leadership, and the policies of his administration.

He said the memoir offers his personal account of key events in Nigeria

  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

Israel-Iran War: Hospital in Israel suffers extensive damage as Iran’s direct missile hit Soroka Medical Centre

Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, the Israeli hospital in Beer Sheba has been damaged extensively following attacks from Iran.

A major hospital in southern Israel has suffered extensive damage after it was directly hit by missiles released from Iran this morning, reports say.

Soroka Medical Centre, situated in Beer Sheba, has rejected more casualties from coming to the hospital following a direct attack from Iran, which has severely injured various people severely injured.

On Thursday, Israel launched an attack on Iran’s Arak heavy water reactor after warning the residents to vacate the area.

High-degrees of explosions were heard in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv as the bloody conflict between the two nations shows no sign of ending.

In recent times, Israeli air strikes have successfully eliminated the top officials on Iran’s military command, destroyed its nuclear capabilities, and taken almost 640 people out. Meanwhile, Iranian vengeful strikes have killed more than twenty-four people in Israel.

However, the United States President Donald Trump has echoed the prospect of joint-operations with Israel and stated yesterday that Iran was “just weeks away” from having a nuclear weapon, in opposition to the US intelligence agencies.

The US Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, said months ago that Iran had not decided to build nuclear weapons despite possessing stockpiles of enriched uranium.

Iran Minister Warns US Off Middle East Conflict

The nation of Iran’s deputy minister has issued a stern warning to the United States against any direct meddling in the Israel-Iran conflict, stating that “all the necessary options are on the table, in comments reported by Iranian state media this morning.”

“If the US wants to actively intervene in support of Israel, Iran will have no other option but to use its tools to teach aggressors a lesson and defend itself … our military decision-makers have all necessary options on the table,” Kazem Garibaldi said, as reported by state media.

“Our recommendation to the US is to at least stand by if they do not wish to stop Israel’s aggression,” he said.

Trump Consents Proposition To Attack Iran

According to reports making the rounds, the United States President Donald Trump has consented proposition to attack Iran, but a final decision is yet to be made.

Yesterday, Trump told the media: “I may do it, I may not do it, reacted if US would meddle in the Israel-Iran war.

Yesterday, the US president issued confidential instructions to army bosses in the situation room inside the White House, according to a report in the media.

President Trump said, “I have ideas on what to do, but I haven’t made a final decision. I like to make the final decision one second before it’s due, because things change, especially with war.”

“Things change with war. It can go from one extreme to the other.”

Iran’s ‘Terrorist Dictator’ Aimed At Hospital And Civilian ─ Netanyahu

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated a few hours ago that Iran’s ‘terrorist dictator’ aimed a missile at Soroka Hospital in Beer Sheba and at a population comprising civilians in southern Israel.

An Iranian missile destroyed the main hospital in southern Israel, injuring people and inflicting ‘extensive damage,” according to the medical facilities. Israeli media outlets also aired video of blown-out windows and gloomy black smoke.

Another Iranian missile hit a multi-floor apartment building in Tel Aviv and other areas in central Israel. A minimum of forty people were reportedly injured, as reported by Magen David Adom rescue service.

North Korea Condemns Israeli Attack On Iran

This morning, North Korea condemned Israel’s attack on Iran as it issued a stern warning to the US and EU not to “fanning up the flames of war”.

Kim Jong Un expressed “serious concern” over “Israel’s military attack and resolutely denounces it, a North Korean foreign ministry spokesperson said.

North Korea said Israel’s killing of civilians is “an unpardonable crime against humanity.

The foreign ministry added: “The illegal act of state-sponsored terrorism by Israel is raising the danger of a new all-out war in the Middle East region.”

The Arak Heavy Water Reactor, Purpose

According to Iranian state television this morning. Israel has attacked Iran’s Arak heavy water reactor.

The report revealed that there was “no radiation danger whatsoever” and that the facility had already been vacated before the attack.

Before the attack, Israel on X issued a warning that it would hit the facility and implored the general public to evacuate the vicinity. The warning was included in a red circle, like other warnings before it.

The Arak heavy water reactor is 250km south of Tehran. It’s heavy water cools a nuclear reactor, but it produces plutonium as a byproduct that can be used in manufacturing nuclear weapons.

Its development would surely present Iran with another way to the bomb beyond enriched uranium, in case Iran chooses to go for the weapon.

Iran had agreed under its 2015 nuclear deal with the West to restructure the facility to ease proliferation concerns.

In 2019, Iran erected the heavy water reactor’s secondary circuit, which at the same time did not default on Tehran’s 2015 nuclear deal with the West.

At this time, the United Kingdom was assisting Iran to restructure the Aral heavy water reactor to reduce the amount of plutonium it produces, standing in for the US, which withdrew from the project after President Donald Trump made a decision, in 2018, to unilaterally withdraw America from the nuclear deal.

The International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog, has been imploring Israel not to hit Iranian nuclear sites.

Missile From Iran Hit Hospital In Israel

A missile barrage from Iran aimed at Israel this morning, including a ‘direct hit’ on a medical centre.

Soroka Medical Centre, Israel’s main hospital in the south, was directly targeted by the Iranian military.

According to a spokesperson for the medical centre in Beer Sheba, the hospital suffered “extensive damage” in various areas, and several people were injured in the attack.

AFTER the attack, Soroka Hospital has rejected more casualties BEING brought for treatment.

The hospital, as reported by the hospital’s website, has more than 1,000 beds and provides services to the estimated 1 million residents in the area.

Mr Trump Claims Iran Was Just weeks Away From producing an atomic bomb.

The US President Donald Trump has claimed that the nation of Iran was “just weeks away” from producing a nuclear bomb, opposing a US intelligence report, which stated that Tehran was not in a hurry to build a bomb.

“I have been saying for 20 years, maybe longer, that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. I have been saying this for a long time, and I think they were a few weeks away from having one,” the US president said.

“Iran can’t have a nuclear weapon. Too much devastation. And they’d use it. You know, I believe they’d use it. Others won’t use it, but I believe they’d use it,” he claimed.
