  • Three Years After Lalong Left Office, Nigerians Reflect on His Legacy

Three years after the administration of former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong came to an end, residents and political observers have continued to reflect on his eight-year tenure, with discussions centering on his achievements, shortcomings, and overall legacy.

Across social media platforms and public forums, many Nigerians have been asking a common question: "Three years after the Lalong administration ended, what stands out most to you about his time in office?"

The question has generated diverse reactions, with some respondents highlighting infrastructure development, road construction, educational reforms, and efforts to promote peaceful coexistence during his administration.

Others, however, pointed to persistent security challenges, economic concerns, unemployment, and governance issues, arguing that these remain among the defining aspects of Lalong

  • Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo Alleges Boko Haram Infiltrated Nigerian Military, Links Claim to U.S. Troop Withdrawal

JOS, Nigeria — The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachamo, has alleged that members of the Boko Haram insurgent group have occupied strategic positions within the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The cleric made the remarks in a video circulated on his social media page, where he discussed the security situation in Nigeria and the recurring violence in parts of the country.

According to Rev. Dachamo, the alleged infiltration of the military was the reason United States military personnel were withdrawn from Nigeria after, he claimed, they received security reports from troops deployed to assess the security situation.

He further alleged that the U.S. personnel had been sent in connection with concerns over what he described as the killing of Christian communities in parts of the country.

Rev. Dachamo did not provide evidence to substantiate his claims during the video.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the United States Government had not publicly confirmed Rev. Dachamo

Alao–Akala: A Note On A Man Who Lives On After Death is an article that presents a note on Alao-Akala, a man who lives on after death.

It also presents a nostalgic reflection on a good and useful political Icon of his time.

We are already sorely missing you.

This brings to mind the popular quote of Ernest Hemmingway on the psychology of human transition from the earthly sphere. He noted that :

“Every man’s life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another.”

Who’d have known that the dusk hatched on January 11, 2022, would plunge the entire nation into a chasm of grief?

Who thought it would swallow a giant in its abdomen and lead him through the path of inevitability?

Who knew the fragrance and pleasantness that promised day would swerve into the height of mere fantasy?

Who Knew Agaja, who saw the defeat of Egypt by Nigerian Super Eagle would not tell the full tale of the day?

The wailing noise diffused from the rooftops. The long-known dirge birds gathered and descanted on and on.

With tears, Ogbomosho traced the starting point to the Opadoyin Akala lodge.

Right there, eyes creek rivers, feet trembled, souls whimpered, and dilemma took over the moment.

“Erin Wo” – The giant has fallen.

Right there, It’s no more rumour, it’s though, an unruly Nightmare that’s feasting on the infant day.

Death is so uncultured and has no modicum of politeness.

Isn’t it said by the Yoruba elderly scholar that “if a child Is sent on a confusing and deadly errand, it’s pertinent for the little one to use self-reasoning in execution”?

Death Messenger was too naive to understand the weight of the errand.

He didn’t understand the scores of hearts that would be broken into smithereens for this single life he plucked off.

He could not foresee the hapless, helpless lives that might lose their momentum, hope, and reason to live on.

Death is a short-thinker and thin-feeler. Death, You deserve all the blame!

Alas, Oyo Politics has lost a Political Gladiator with exceptional political theory.

The king of Randa Political Kingdom, where the nameless receive the hope of resounding names, Where the poor became rich and famous.

The Late H.E Otunba Christopher Alao Akala was a great brand that catalysed hopeless brands into vantage points of fame.

His role in Oyo politics can not be overemphasized, starting from his days as a Local Government Chairman to his days as a distinguished and trailblazing Governor of Oyo state.

His impact was second to none.

His uniqueness was beyond description. He, who won all earthly battles and took the crown. The late Otun of the source has set many records.

He broke all and gave voice to grassroots politics.

His name would be forever etched on the marble in Ogbomosho and its surroundings.

How best can a great one be celebrated after death?

If death requests life, Alao would see who’ll volunteer his life for him.

Alao–Akala: A Note On A Man Who Lives On After Death

Indeed, Bobagunwa came, saw, and conquered!

The Oyo All Progressive Party (APC) has lost a Grandmaster and a bright leader who upholds the flag of peace with outstanding zeal and exuberance.

To All Progressive Congress (APC) as a whole, one of the party pillars has broken, hopefully, all that is hidden within the chunk and behind the ceiling will not be put to shame.

The late Alao–Akala showed and proved his love for the party and executed his best for best in great fairness and courage.

One of the dormant dreams of the deceased political wizard is to see All Progressive Congress take the lead in the coming election.

Thus, he worked tirelessly irrespective of age, differences, and ideology disparity.

He called back home with love, all the driven political heads that were standing on internal feuds.

He presented them with the reasons to come back, in one accord.

Without a doubt, the best way to celebrate the life of such a great man is when the All Progressive Congress takes the lead in the forthcoming election.

Looking roughly about, whose demise could get everywhere shaken this way?

Whose departure could summon the multitude of men like that of the Late Alao-Akala?

Who else can be loved so dearly by people the way people love this gone legend?

He was fondly called “Grassroots Politician” usually echoed by people who announced his openness beyond adjectives description.

Alao–Akala: A Note On A Man Who Lives On After Death

No wonder the Great Adedibu of blessed memory holds unto him(Akala) like a triumph card that ascertains victory.

The Late Alao–Akala will forever continue to be a well-written journal of life greatly spent.

The Alao–Akala rose from the mud of life to the glistening golden chair of success and put everything out to raise others.

It wouldn’t be an understatement to call him “A ladder always available to lift others”.

Till now, many have yet to believe the son of Opadoyin has departed from this beautiful world.

Some are still expecting a strange travelling messiah to come around and touch the sleeping giant to arise from his slumber.

While those who understand the weight of death and its certainty fell slumped upon hearing the demise of the great one, scores became unconscious, and assuredly, the whole Ogbomosho, Oyo state, and everywhere Alao graced will forever miss his gracious presence.

The Late Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao–Akala is a note on a man who lives after death.

The responses of people towards showing appreciation, and paying sincere tribute through the Candle Night walk organized by “Amazing Grace Groups”, where the late political colossus belonged, is worth proper recording for such turn up has not surfaced in the history of Ogbomosho.

Starting from the selfless contribution of people, the readiness of a great number of people, the free release of needful materials by different startups, and the honorary declaration of a free day by schools for the students to pay their precious tribute to the great man who posed himself as the father of all and enemy of none.

In one of his historical statements, Marcus Aurelius, the peaceful Roman King, said, “It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.”

As for the Late Dr Christopher Adebayo Alao–Akala, he didn’t fear to live, he lived fully his quota and was never for once scared of death.

The man didn’t reason for living, He had his feet etched on the living monument that at the mention of his name, even after death will helplessly find help.

The Akala family, though death might have disclosed its naivety by snatching great men, the life lived by your father is worthwhile and forever be celebrated.

The name he left, his royal emblem, a unique pass to all doors.

The shortest but special of all is that Akala lives on, in the mass’s heart, thinking and hearing.

I guess George Eliot was explaining the perfectly lived lives when he said:

“Our dead are never dead to us until we have forgotten them.”

The whole Oyo will never forget the man – H. E. Otunba (Dr) Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, and will constantly put the family he left behind in prayers.

Adieu to the political dilemma of our time. We love you, but God loves you the more.
