The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in the sum of N100 million with one surety in like sum.

The court ruled that the surety must be a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 17 and provide evidence of at least three months’ salary payments.

Toyin Abraham denies link to Big Ayo’s re- arrest.Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has denies reports of being responsible for Big Ayo’s re- arrest,who she previously clashed with her online in 2024.

The actress, in a reaction to the viral claim on Tuesday, described the report as “fake and false,” noting that she had no involvement in any such action and was busy on a movie set at the time the allegation surfaced.A

“Arrest Ayo as how, pls this is fake and false news. I’m on set filming. Pls kindly disregard. I didn’t get Ayo or anyone arrested; it’s all love from me. Thank you and I will advise you to kindly take this down pls,” she stated.

The allegation originated from a now-deleted post by an X user, Khan, who had claimed that Ayo had “allegedly been arrested again” at the instance of the actress.

The post quickly went viral, sparking conversations around Abraham’s past actions against online trolls.

However, another X user, Prince Adeshina,has refuted the claim, clarifying that the actress was at a film location and is not aware of any arrest.

“For the attention of the general public: Toyin Abraham was at a movie location and did not arrest Ayo. We urge the general public to consider the circulating report as fake news,” Adeshina wrote

The resurfaced allegation appears to draw from a previous high-profile incident in July 2024, when Toyin Abraham took legal action against individuals accused of cyberbullying her on social media.

Nigerian artists shine at 52nd AMA Awards.

Nigeria is well represented as popular afrobeats stars, Rema, Wizkid, and Burna Boy, have been  nominated at the 52nd American Music Awards nominees.The American Music Awards (AMAs), is one  of America’s most prestigious music honours.

It was  produced by Dick Clark Productions since 1974,winners are determined  entirely by public vote. Fans decide through the AMAs website and social media, making it one of the major awards shows where audience power is everything.

The 52nd ceremony is scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026 and will be hosted by Queen Latifah, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Taylor Swift led the overall nomination overall nominations with eight, followed closely by Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter, and somber with seven each, while Alex Warren and Lady Gaga each earned six.Burna Boy, Rema, and Wizkid have all secured nominations for Best Afrobeats Artist.

They’ll face competition from South African star Tyla and Ghanaian-American artist MOLIY. With voting in the hands of the fans, the Nigerian contingent will be counting on their massive global fanbases to bring one of those slots home.
