Nigerian Teenage Tech Star, John Oseni : “I Will Do More Than Elon Musk”

“I will do more than Elon Musk,” says Nigerian Teenage Tech Sensation, John Oseni. He made the bold statement while asserting competence over age capability.

The recent panoramic breakthrough news of a Nigerian teen, John Oseni, who has set a significant pace in the technological space, is yet another substantial fact validation of the opinion of competence over the preposition of age.

 It is also a relative testimonial of African talents in the digital space.

Meet John Oseni

John Oseni hails from Akure Township, the Capital City of Ondo State in the South-Western part of Nigeria. A son of a Professor’s Father and a Medical Doctor’s Mother. He attended Best Solutions Primary School before proceeding to Command Day Secondary School. John is no stranger to demonstrating brilliance, as he was accorded a double promotion during his academic journey.

John Oseni is a young man of many interests. He had earlier shown interest in musical instruments before settling for coding, which he considered more challenging.

His early foray into the world of coding started when the SAkure-based Creative Tech Hub, Green Garage, run by Adebayo Moses and Kolawole Oluwasegun, visited John’s school to deliver a coding invitational pep talk. 

In his own words, the rising Tech Sensation described the experience of the life-changing visit of Green Garage to his school as follows:

“When they came to teach us how to write codes, they hosted a competition to test our knowledge, and out of 70 students, one girl and I emerged winners. They promised us prizes; however, we never received them. So I set off to their company to enquire about my award, and they offered me a one-week training program on code writing.

“After that week, I had understood the concept of code writing and had scored a teaching opportunity with the company. I am only 15 years, yet I was teaching graduates, so I make sure to go to class before my students, clean the desk and wait for them to come,” 

John Oseni is now a blockchain and full stack developer. In layman’s words, John is a software developer with expertise that cuts across web development, mobile development, blockchain development and cyber security.  

John has developed a prototype web-based crypto wallet, token swapping, and exchanger ready to launch in 2022.

John Oseni could lay claim to developing the first-ever blockchain video-conferencing application.

He is a proud author of 4 books: Blockchain(web3), Cyber Security, Getting started with Node js and Space & Orbit. John launched his Blockchain(web3) book in January of 2022.

In addition to all of these, John Oseni has begun a YouTube series themed, Learn To Write Codes With John Oseni.

Exclusive Interview with Morganable

This young and well-informed tech rising star who discussed exclusively with Morganable stated that “he started his journey when he discovered through reading about the discouraging position of Africa in the tech space“.

 He developed an interest in joining the new age frontiers to secure crucial space for Africa in the blanching dawn of the digital age and dispensation.

 John was willing and determined to do despite understanding the fate of most Africans who possess such potential and determination.

Parental Acceptance and Support

When asked What the impacts of your parents on your success are?”, the Nigerian Teenage Tech sensation  laughed for a moment, as though some funny memories crossed his mind, and then spoke:

Yeah, they helped me out a lot. But when I started then, they were against it, but they’ve helped a lot because they put me through a lot and made me know more about life—making me more experienced in almost all areas. They were seriously against me, but I was able to convince them with my result, and that is when they started seeing what I was doing: they were happy and began to support me.

John Oseni, the now Senior Web  Blockchain and Web Developer representing an Italian company, further discussed the dynamics of multitasking which sets him on a good learning momentum. 

He also discussed how he could juggle many programs together. He made known how hereditary his quest for knowledge and social advancement is, his father being a Professor and mother a Doctor.

According to him : 

“I started writing code while in secondary school precisely. I got into the tech space at the age of 14 years but started core coding at 15, and I am currently 16. I must confess learning lots of programming languages at a time and working for lots of people was not easy, especially when my parent seized my laptop because they thought I was possessed. Yet, I kept doing my thing because I believe I can do it, and yes, I did it”.

Competence Over Age

Again, the Nigerian teen tech sensation has successfully baptised the age factor in the selection of employees with the mud of invalidation with his ageless breakthrough as he creates a slogan – competence over age.

When asked, “How do you see yourself in the next five years?”. 

Right on the seat, he projected the future and vowed that he would be more productive and outshine the current world’s richest man, Elon Musk, who is first known for his technological talent and creativity.

 He says with reverberating conviction:

 “In five years, I see Africa doing great technologically. I can and will do more than Elon Musk; I will be among the CEOs holding the technological pillars of Africa, In Nigeria, to be precise. Elon Musk started somewhere, and I believe I have taken steps and started somewhere. I have never allowed anybody to talk me down from my dream. Infact, I do not think it is too huge because I have all that it takes to realise it (Success, thoughts, ability, hunger to learn more and constantly developing skills and God). The future will be possible by God’s grace and what I am creating for everyone- expect it; I will solve the world’s most haunting problems.

Ultimately, the youngster and the face of Nigeria in the technological outfit leveraged an interview Morganable had with him as he urges the budding Techies across Africa to keep being determined, persevering, and consistently learn more and practice twice the time.

 Finally, he openly invites all potential techies to join hands to build a futuristic African nation found on the bedrock of developed technological culture, science and arts.
